Brandon in the dark

The group, minus Heather and Chloe, filtered back into the living area where Brandon was sitting on a couch, leaning over ad rubbing his head. Zack looked around and saw Ashley standing at the door to the room she shared with Brandon. With a small wave, the blonde girlfriend beckoned her boyfriend's friend to follow.

"I...I'm just gonna use the bathroom," Zack lied, backing away from the others. He paused by Ashley's door, checking to make sure no one was looking and then slipped into her room.

Most of his friends were too concerned with Brandon to pay him any attention. Except for Lisa, who was watching out of the corner of her eye.

"Where's Ashley?" Gavin asked Brandon, sitting on the armrest beside his friend.

"Said she was tired, and needed to sleep," Brandon said.

"Good idea," Victoria agreed, the mere mention of sleep causing her to yawn. "I think I'll go nap too. Give me a shout when Heather gets back from her appointment."

She gave Gavin a kiss on the cheek and lumbered off to bed.

"I feel like there's something she's not telling me." Brandon continued.

"There's is," Kurt said, but Lisa gave him a hard slap on the arm to shut him up. Brandon looked at Kurt, but with Lisa there, Kurt thought better than to expose everyone's lies. Besides, he was having too much fun. "Sorry, I'm just stirring shit. There's nothing to do up here in the woods."

Brandon's eyes moved from Kurt to Lisa.

"What would I know?" Lisa asked with a shrug. "I just got here."

"Kurt's right," Gavin said. "We all just need to do something to take our minds off of this situation."

"Like what?" Kurt asked, though he was openly leering at Lisa.

"I dunno," Gavin admitted. "Usually when I want to relax I play a video game or something on my phone."

"Lame," Kurt said, but then added, "but a game isn't a bad idea. Maybe something down at the lake?"
