Boy Scout Video...

As you stare at your covered best friend, you remember back to a video you had seen on first aid way back when you were a boy scout. It had a segment on hypothermia, and as you remember you swallow hard. The best way to fend off hypothermia is heat, you have to raise the body's temperature. And the best way to do that is to get under the blanket with her and warm her up with your body heat. A problem being that your own ski suit isn't exactly dry, nor warm. You'll have to do it just as nude as she is.

Sighing you walk over to your bet friend, the love of your life. You try to imagine all the different things that she could do to you when (when? Yes...WHEN) she wakes up and some of them are not too pretty. You're pretty sure if you got the chance to explain she'd not be upset, but...if she just hauls off and....

Melody shivers loudly, her teeth clattering, and her lips are turning blue. You have a decision to make and it has to be quick, hypothermia is a very dangerous situation.

Sighing, and praying for advanced forgiveness you start taking off your clothes. The furnace is warming up the cabin pretty nicely, but there is a bit of a draft. You'll have to...

"Uhh...Jack...s-s-s-so c-c-c-cold..." she mutters, almost under her breath. Her eyes were still closed, and it really looked like it was a dream. "P-p-p-p-please be...please be alright. I...I never..." She shifts under the blankets, and that noise cuts off what she was going to say.

You'll be damned if she dies without you telling her how you feel about her, so you quickly shuck off the rest of your clothes and lift one side of the blanket and crawl into the bed beside Melody. You situate yourself and then wrap your arms around her, bringing her close to your chest.

Maybe it's exhaustion, but as you drift off to sleep you swear you hear her sigh and say, "love...you."
