Blue Diamond & Her Pearl

Even before she reached the house itself, she saw that someone was there. Sitting against the mountain which the Beach House was embedded in was a gigantic feminine figure with blue tinted skin and hair. Sitting on her shoulder was a person who looked similar to Steven's friend Pearl.

"Hello, Ms. Blue Diamond," Priyanka called up to the most emotional of Gemworld's three rulers.

Blue Diamond shifted towards the sudden calling, and she gave the slightest of smiles. "Good day, Dr. Maheswaran. And 'Ms.' is unnecessary. Blue Diamond will suffice."

"As you wish, ma'am," the Indian woman said with a scoff. "What brings you to Beach City?"

"I am merely visiting," Blue Diamond revealed, "In the time since Steven convinced me and my fellow Diamonds to renounce our conquest of the galaxy, I have found myself drawn back to this world repeatedly. I have come to see why and how Pink came to value it so."

Priyanka grinned. "Yes, there is much to love about Earth. Of course, I may be a bit biased, as I have lived here all my life. As has my family."

"So you have," Blue Diamond remarked, folding her massive arms. "Gems do not have families. Not in the way you know. But I have come to better understand the concept of it in the last few years."

"Yes, family is very important to most humans," said Priyanka. Her grin then faded a bit as she gazed off into the distance.

"Is there something wrong?" Blue asked, noting her sudden bout of dismay.

Priyanka hesitated to reply at first. Then she looked up at Blue and asked, "Would you really like to know?"
