What happens next?

Believe it or not, Gwen's day gets even worse

Oh, no, Gwen thought. Not the hallway. Not the hallway.

The last thing she wanted to do was get dragged out into the school hallway. Especially without her blouse and skirt.

Her underwear-clad form on a hundred or more camera phones? Gwen did not think so.

She grabbed for the restroom door and held on with all her might. Then she realized her hands had become unstuck. And that there was a piece of white cloth stuck to her hands that once might have been her underpants. Which, of course, meant that she was now naked from the waist down except for her shoes and socks.

Meanwhile, Miles found himself halted in his journey to fetch clothes for Gwen. Something was holding him back. Something strong. Something tough.

However, Miles refused to let anything hold him back from his mission. So he pulled too. Until finally something yielded and he could go on his way.

Gwen knew she should yell something to Miles. But what good would such yelling do now?

As embarrassing as it was to see her white bra trailing after Miles on a strand of spider webbing, it seemed even more embarrassing to do anything to call attention to it.

Besides, what was she going to do now that she was naked? Crawl out into the hallway and go after it?

No, it seemed much better to wait here in the sanctuary of the ladies' room until Miles came back with something for her to wear.

In the meantime, it's not like anything worse could happen, could it?

She crawled back into the restroom and prayed that no one outside had seen her nakedness or captured it for posterity on his or her cell phone.

Of course, twenty minutes later, she could tell that the powers that be had answered her prayers when the fire alarm rang and the PA system announced that they were having a fire drill.
