Chapter 10 by The-Drunken-Bandit The-Drunken-Bandit

Where do we begin?

Before we do Katara has a stipulation!

“Wait!” Katara shouts as she looks up from her paperwork. In response, you turn to look at her and see that she has a look of… Hesitation?

“Yes? What seems to be the problem Katara?” You ask the young water tribe girl. Katara chews on her bottom lip a little bit before answering. It seems she torn on something?

Eventually, Katara does respond as she stops her nervous actions and speaks up.

“We… We can’t just… Leave my world the way it is…” Katara says as she looks away with great hesitance.

Ahh… Okay, Katara doesn’t want to leave her world and the constant state of war it is. She also most certainly does not want to abandon her friends during their journey.

“I see… You want to return to your world and solve its problems first… Is that right?” You ask the dark-skinned girl with a raised brow. Katara can only breathe in deeply before answering with a huff.

“I-Yes. Look I can’t just leave my friends and my world the way it is. So, before we go anywhere else. Can you please solve the problems of my world, afterward I’m willing to do whatever you ask of me. Just- please stop the fighting.” Katara begs as she looks at you with her blue eyes the shine with pleading…

Well… When she puts it like that, how can you refuse! However, Katara must understand that you heading to her world has… Conditions…

“You do understand that if we go to your world, that I have to subjugate it. Right?” You clarify to the young Bender. In response, Katara closes her eyes and takes a deep breath before she answers.

“Yes. I understand.” Katara says with great regret and hesitance.

“Okay, then. Since you apparently made stipulations on your contract, we must now take a closer look at your world and see its actual threats…” You nod as you pull up several images of the main threats that exist within this world. Immediately you start out with the obvious that being the fire nation as you point out its symbol amongst the images.

“First we have of course the fire nation and its Armada Navy ships, we both know that they are led by Fire Lord Ozai…” You start as you pull up an image of the mad King as he sits in his throne room, surrounded by a wall of fire as he stares down imperiously down at the subjects. Katara can only look at the King for a second, before quickly shuttering as she stares directly into his eyes…

“I always wondered what he looked like… He looks just as big of a jerk as I imagined.” Katara says in morbid curiosity.

“Really?” You question the girl with a raised brow. Katara in response chuckles a little bit and scratches the back of her head.

“Well… Not exactly… I imagined him much taller and much more scary looking.” Katara says sheepishly as she scratches the back of her head.

“You thought he looked like some kind of firebreathing demon didn’t you?” You state with a flat tone and a deadpan stare. In response, Katara could only weakly chuckle as she looked off to the side…

“I was a kid can you blame me?” Katara says with a shrug of her shoulders and a sheepish grin. You sigh yourself a little bit before pulling up more images. This time of the fire Lords daughter, his private little monster… Azula.

As you and Katara peer into the pool you see the pale skinned princess standing on the deck of a Royal Navy vessel, training to achieve perfection, as usual…

Though Azula’s armor made it difficult to tell her actual body’s appearance. You could still tell that she stood a little shorter than Katara being that she stood about 5 foot 9 with an hourglass body type. Though Azula’s armor made it difficult to tell her bust size you could assume that her breasts were about a Large C cup.

This could also be said of her hips and rear, as the bagginess of her royal uniform made it difficult to accurately guess the size of her rear and hips. At a glance though you would say that Azula has normal sized hips and an athletically medium-sized heart-shaped rear.

Though as you examine Azula’s body, Katara examines the fire princesses face and notes something of interest.

“Her eyes…” Katara whispers quietly as she stares transfixed at the image and looked deeply into the golden eyes of Azula.

“Hmm… What about her eyes Katara?” You ask out of curiosity as her comment interests you. Katara stays silent for a little bit as she tries to compose herself and find the right words.

“… They look piercing at first, but… When I look deeper they look… Broken…” Katara whispers out in concern. You hum to yourself as you digest this information, a little bit surprised the Katara picked up on such a thing so quickly. Must be the necklace of the heart in action, it’s allowing her to see deeper and look within the heart of a person through their eyes.

“Hmm… Interesting.” You say slowly at which Katara looks at you with curiosity.

“What do you mean by interesting?” Katara says confusedly. In response, you look back into the pool and elaborate.

“It’s interesting because you’re not wrong. Though Azula may look composed and sure of herself on the outside. Deep down though, she’s broken scared and insecure about herself and those around her.

The reason for this is because she’s held the belief that her mother thought her a monster for her cruel actions as a child. The end results have caused Azula to hate and fear everything about love and refused to become close with anyone around her.

The effects of this have made Azula hunger for power as a way to cope with her fear of love as she sees it as a weakness.” You explain to the water tribe girl whose eyes grow wide at the explanation.

“But that’s completely-“ “-insane? Yes, though Azula won’t admit it she is mentally unhinged to a degree. However, we need to move on. Just know if you ever encounter Azula know that she is a very dangerous and intelligent warrior who will stop at nothing to achieve what she believes are her goals.” You finish for disbelieving Katara as you pull up an image of a great city that was lined with three massive walls.

This was the city of Ba Sing Se, the capital of the earth kingdom.

At first, Katara looks confused as to why you would pull up an image of the earth kingdom’s capital. This confusion grew even more as you pulled up an image of a balding man with a Manchu mustache who was dressed in dark green and gold trimmed clothing of a noble.

“Our next most prominent threat is this man. Long Feng, the grand secretariat of the earth kingdom.” Almost immediately Katara feels something off about this man as she looks at him.

“He feels wrong…” Katara whispers quietly, to which you nod and explain Long Feng's true nature.

“He should feel wrong Katara. For this man is a snake and a political schemer. The last decade or so that the earth kingdom has been on the back foot in the hundred-year war. Correct?” Katara nod slowly at this as you she has noticed that the earth kingdom has been losing ground lately.

“The reason for this is this man. Long Feng has created a false image of peace and has been using the earth King as a puppet to ensure this. Because of this many generals have lacked the needed supplies and manpower to properly push back against the fire nation. Furthermore, he enforces this false peace with the Dai Lee, the ‘cultural preservation’ agents of the earth kingdom. In reality, they are more of a secret police **** that cracks down on anyone who says anything against the state.” Katara’s eyes grow wide in horror as you explain the atrocities that long Feng and his agents have been responsible for.

“What!” Katara shouts in shock, you ignore this as you continue.

“If you think that’s bad Katara, then you haven’t seen what they do to the people that they ‘remove’ from society. These people are often subjected to **** mental and physical conditioning and are turned into mindlessly brainwashed agents of the Dai Lee. More often not the females that are captured are turned into Joo Dee’s. Joo Dee's are brainwashed tour guides and spies for the Dai Lee.” You explain as you pull up images of the reconditioning that some of these poor people go through at the hands of the Dai Lee.

Katara goes completely silent as she brings her hands up to her mouth as she stares in horror at the terrible reality that exists in Ba Sing Se.

“If we are to take control of the earth kingdom we will have to deal with Long Feng and his agents before we do anything else. Then finally we come to the water-“ you pause as you pull up an image of the northern water tribe.

Or more precisely the image of the spirit pool in which the two Koi fish that contain the souls of the tides and of the moon reside. In this image, you see that the entire world has gone red like blood and that currently that there is a standoff between the avatar and his companions, against a fire nation general with sideburns who was currently holding a bag that was thrashing wildly.

Oh shit, you remember this! Immediately you turn to Katara and ask a very important question!

“Katara what exactly were you doing when I pulled you into the dungeon!?” You asked quickly and see that Katara is also shocked as she stares at the image in fear and has dropped her paperwork in shock.

Katara doesn’t respond at first and she just stares at the images in the pool unable to move. You immediately clap your hands to shake her from her shocked trance and ask once again.

“Katara! You need to listen to me! What were you doing when I pulled you out?! This is important!” You demand from the water tribe girl. Katara stutters and sputters as she comes up with an answer.

“I-I Was T-training with Aang!” Katara sputters out in fear as she looks at you.

Dammit, then that means this is happening in real-time! You need to get involved right now and not only save the water spirit but also possibly the princess of the northern water tribe!

Question remains…

Do you make it in time?
