Before the wedding

The two of you hadn't planned anything big. You really just wanted your families there for a small ceremony and party. As odd as it was, Tegan and Lauren were invited. Tegan had been your closest friend for a while and, despite everything, that hadn't changed. Everyone thought it was a bit weird at first, but when they saw that Aubrey was okay with it, they seemed to come around.

You and Aubrey had taken your time to get to the wedding stage. It had been a year since you had gotten together and you both had been so busy. First with the business, then with moving in together. You'd decided to sell the house you and Tegan owned since she moved in with Lauren and, while you were friends, you didn't necessarily want to live right next door. You and your fianceé moved into a condo in the city to be close to work. With your combined salaries, you had a pretty nice two-story condo.

While the guest list was short, it was difficult to find a place for everyone. Aubrey's sister and her son, Aubrey's nephew, would need to stay with you. They even offered to house sit while the two of you went on your honeymoon. Aubrey's sister, Anissa, was a teacher, so it would be almost like a vacation for them, too.

You weren't planning for how awkward it would be, though. When Ani and her son, Zack got there, it was impossible to miss the way Zack was oggling Aubrey. Of course, you couldn't blame him, but he could at least be a bit more inconspicuous about it!
