Becky spots a valuable plant

"Just, like... run around or something" Liv said dismissively. "Like I said, it'll only take me two good shots and they'll both be dead anyways. I wish we had Emmaline here... she'd do it for--"

"Hang on. Shut up" Becky said. The sudden rudeness from her took Liv aback for a moment, until she saw the focus on Becky's face. The blond girl was staring very closely at something on the ground, a patch of mushrooms, Liv realized when she followed her gaze. "Don't move too fast, or you'll startle them."

"Startle who?" Liv's confusion was renewed. There was no one here but the two of them... Was Becky referring to the gnolls, or had her friend gone insane?

Her question was answered with a flash of steel, an impossibly quick movement as Becky lashed out with her dagger toward the spot she had been staring at. Liv saw movement, as one of the tiny beings she had assumed were mushrooms suddenly stood up, only to give a tiny squeak as Becky impaled it with her knife. The looked like it was starting to deflate as Becky stuffed it into a vial.

"Okay." Liv said. Still staring as the rest of the group of mush rooms rooted themselves as well, all running in different directions into other parts of the caves. "That was the strangest thing I've seen in months."

"It's okay, I only needed one." Becky said, hurriedly emptying the contents of her pouch out onto the ground, building a miniature alchemist's station on the ground. With it set up, she turned to Liv. "Would you keep an eye out for me? This should only take a few minutes."

"I suppose I just have to trust that you know what you're doing." Liv said, but Becky had already started working on whatever weird science experiment she had gotten up to, blocking her out completely. Liv sighed as she readied her rifle and started to watch the sides of the cave. "This really isn't the time for you to go all mad-scientist."
