Back up!

As the monster comes at you with a swinging scythe arm, you attempt to back up and out of the way, to get a better bead on landing your own hit. This monster may be fast, but you're faster! Under the circumstances of dodging this attack in this setting and with this positioning and this wind direction at least, you'd probably lose a footrace, but you aren't a foot so everything turns out okay.

You leap back quickly, getting out of the way of its swinging scythe strike which slashes through air instead of Debbies. Hah! This thing must've not realised it was facing a true Warrior, just a few years misplaced! That's its mistake then, because you were already half-ready for an attack before leaping back. Now that the monster has left itself open, you have full confidence that your strike will land solidly and without any concern for the second attempt the monster seems to be preparing.
