Play more or leave for the next call?
Back to Work
You wanted to play around more, you really wanted to see where you could take the whole Elise and Lana thing without messing Elise's marriage up. The radio crackled to life though and Mona from dispatch static laced voice sounded. "105 and 107 are you clear?"
"107 is clear," Elise quickly responded to her shoulder mounted handset. You lost your footing in her mind and would have to re-insert yourself more aggressively to get it back. You could do that but in your experience that would put the person you are controlling in a more zombie-like state than natural. Instead you just push a thought, albeit a little hard since Elise really wanted out. Elise turned to Lana and smiled meekly, "I have to get back to work...you have my number call me later...we can meet on my break."
Lana brighten and nodded, "I'll do that...see you later and be safe," she said before nodded her good bye to you both and heading back to the double wide.
Elise looked at you and shrugged, "She seems nice...maybe I can a free meal from her," she added with a smile. You only laugh and shake your head.
Mona's voice came back over the line, "107 there's a elderly person that needs assistance. Additional information and address should be your OBC."
"Copy, show 107 responding," Elise replied and turned to you, "Duty calls, I'll see you later." she says before heading off to her patrol unit.
"105 are you clear?" Mona then chimes in.
"105 is clear," you reply into your handset. You let you mind wander the trailer park as Mona relays information about a homeless person disturbing a business. Billy and Cat had moved on to full on fucking now, without your guidance. You figure the blow job that you did steer them towards had something to do with it. Karen Brockman was fast asleep now, and you hope she would not wake up until much later and not on your shift. Lana had rejoined her friends where Angelo was fully naked and dancing with no music. His other friends were in full hysterics with Rogers wheezing from laughter. You let Angelo regain himself as you head back your patrol unit. At least they were having fun now you thought.
You look at the address as the information that populated on your On Board Computer. "Show 105 responding," you say into your patrol unit's radio handset.
Your next location was not that far from the trailer park you only had to travel about five minutes and you did it without your lights and sirens. You pull into an office park and looked around for an homeless person. There was no one out. "This is 105...could you verify the address of the caller?" Mona replied a second later with the address that was on display on the OBC. You sigh as you park your patrol car. "Show me on scene," you say into your handset before stepping out.
As soon as you close the door to your patrol call a woman steps out of one of the nearby buildings. She is a pretty woman with tanned skin and dark stacked up hair. She is dressed in a dark colored skirt suit with matching hose and heels. You let your mind wander, she's the only person you could read and she is also the caller.
Vanda Pike is her name. She's 43 years old and a real estate agent. Her office is located on the first floor of the building that she came out of. You could see with just a look through of her head that the homeless person in question looked more like an unkempt person and not an actual homeless person. This going to be one of those calls you think to yourself.
Yon introduce yourself and reach out your hand. She does not accept it starts to talk. She tells you her name and where she works, everything that you already know by reading her mind. What she doesn't tell you is that she sleeps around a has multiple lovers, one of which was a married man. You pull yourself out of her mind as she starts to describe her 'homeless' person situation.
"I was sitting in my office right there," she gestures at the window the building. "I saw him leave that building over there," she continues and points to a neighboring building. "He could have been squatting or something," she goes on putting her hands on hips. "I'm in real estate I know a think or two about squatting..."
You keep yourself from rolling your eyes. Another quick look through her mind shows that what she knows about squatting is really just opinion and they're not very good or right. "So they left that building over there?" you ask pointing to the building that Vanda had pointed out. She nods crossing her arms. "Then what happened?"
"He gets into his car and leaves," Vanda replies. You both are silent for a heart beat.
"So he's not here anymore?" You ask breaking the silence.
Vanda is a bit frustrated as she understands the whole situation. She huffs, "Look officer, he's homeless he was not suppose to here and he's squatting and its you're job to do something about it."
You look over at the building in question and then back at Vanda, "Wait here," you say as you make your way the building. You weren't sure what you were going to about this call. You really couldn't do anything since the suspected squatter had left and you also could not do anything if the owner of the property did not want to press charges. Vanda Pike was not property owner so she could not do anything at the end of the day.
You test the door of the building and it opens. Funny how the squatter did not lock after himself. Entering the building you are greeted by man behind a desk of some sort of waiting room. You don't bother reading the man's mind but you got a slight glimpse, his name was Andrew and he was little nervous as soon as you stepped in. You put a palm up to calm him and also shoot a quick thought his way. "Sorry...I got a report of a squatter living here?"
"A squatter? No..." Andrew replied shaking his head. "This a drug rehab center..."
"Oh...sorry about that sir...you have a nice day," you say before stepping back out.
Vanda waited for you outside and asked, "Well?" as you approached her.
"Its a legit business, no one is squatting there. Despite his disheveled look, the man you saw sounds like a client and not a squatter," you explain.
"I doubt a drug rehab center is a legit business," Vanda seethed.
You frown and ask, "You mean to tell me you knew there was business there and you still called the police? You did not have to wait for her answer as you mind raced through hers. She called the police since she knew they would not come out to see her if she said she was calling to report a business.
"Well I needed you people to come out and do something about it that place," Vanda gestured at the rehab center once more.
Annoyed you shove her mind into her. Vanda jerked slightly before her face went blank. You now have full control over the real estate agent. You play with her mind as if it was video game.
"I'm an idiot I should not have called..." Vanda said monotoned.
