Author's note: Who is Marie Lehnert?

I think it's time for a brief note.

Some readers who have read other things I've written may wonder whether it's a coincidence that the character Marie Lehnert has the same name as the main character in “Der Religionslehrer” (The Religion Teacher). And she also appears in Toby Mark's “Studentinnen-Haus” (The Female Students’ House): “Marie” - Unfortunately, both stories are currently only available in German; I would try to arrange for a translation if there are enough people interested in reading them.

Since these two stories were published by other authors, the connection is probably not immediately apparent.

The Marie Lehnert in America 2075 is the granddaughter of the original Marie. I hope you are as excited as I am to discover whether she has inherited any of her grandmother's strong, cheeky personality. ;-)
