Author's Notes - First Day Draws to a Close

Thanks everyone for your continued support, it means a tremendous amount to me. My day job is mentally taxing, and sometimes coming home I feel drained of any desire to put my thoughts into words, but when I know that there's people wanting to read the stuff I put out, it massively boosts my motivation. As always, I'm open to all sorts of comments, suggestions, and criticisms. I'm far from perfect, and I'm sure there's gonna be plenty of typos and other mistakes that I'll make, and while I do my best to fix them, there's a bit too much text for me to cleanly edit. Speaking of ideas...

I wanted to outline the general direction I wanted to take the story, as well as potential endings. Too many variables makes it difficult for me to write individual segments, but I want the player to have lots of choices in what they're able to do. So, here's a broad outline of potential endings I'm thinking of (spoilers, sort of? I guess?):

• Queen ending - This is the standard victory, though I'm hoping to have minor variations based on who's alive and her relationship with side characters.
• Puppet ending - Alice sits on the throne, but someone else pulls the strings. Who the puppet master is depends on what deals she makes, but the idea is that the monkey's paw has curled and she's gotten her wish in an ironic way.
• **** ending - This is mostly going to be based on the church route, though I could see it happening in other situations. Essentially, Alice is completely defeated, and she'll end up worse than where she started.
• Elopement ending - Alice learns the power of love and decides that it's more important than her ambitions. Who her lover is depends on her actions. Could be considered a victory.

Those are the four main ones that will almost certainly be in the game, as well as a bunch of fail states where she simply lacks the resources or support for a coup, but there'll probably be others ones as I think of them, depending on how the story develops. Maybe there'll be a route where she pivots to the slums and becomes a gang leader, or maybe there'll be a route where she usurps the church. Who knows.

The main thing I want to convey is that I care a lot about what you guys want to see, so I'm tentatively thinking of posting polls on this branch to gauge reactions and the reception to certain ideas. Would you guys like that?
