Which do you choose?
Attempt to overpower the orderlies, making a run towards the main entrance to escape immediately
You see a narrow window of opportunity in front of you. Dr. Ashford's attention is momentarily divided between you and Matron Oakwood. Agnes and Judith stand in back of you, their grips loosened fractionally as they anticipate compliance.
Without thinking, you move as your animal instinct kicks in. Your body pivots, driving your elbow backward with all the **** you can muster into Judith's chest. The orderly grunts, her breath expelling in a sharp huff, causing her grip to falter. Feeling this, you pull your arm free and push forward toward the corridor that will lead you to the entrance hall.
For three glorious strides, you believe it might actually work. Then Agnes, moving with the efficient brutality of someone who has contained far larger and stronger patients than you pivots her hips and sweeps your legs out from beneath you. You hit the stone floor hard, the impact causing the wind to be knocked out of you. Before you can even process the pain, both orderlies are upon you.
You helplessly watch as Agnes pins your arms down while Judith drops her full weight across your legs. You thrash, trying to buck them off, but their combined mass is immovable for you.
"Violent episode," Matron Blackwood observes calmly, ordering both Agnes, Judith to move with caution.
"No, let me go!" Your voice sounds rough. "I am Dr. Abigail Winters, and you will regret this!" You threaten knowing inside your just making things worse.
Dr. Ashford steps closer towards you as you lie on the cold flagstones with clinical fascination. "The delusion strengthens under duress," she murmurs. "Take the patient to Isolation Room Two. There, she is to be fitted with full restraints —wrists, ankles, and a gag to prevent self-injury that might occur through bitting. I also want her sedated use Laudanum. Twenty drops in water should be enough." Dr. Ashford instructs, catching Matron Oakwood by surprise.
"But surely we should—" Matron Oakwood beings.
"I know the protocol, Marton." Dr. Ashford cuts Matron off smoothly. The patient is demonstrating escalating ****. Immediate isolation and chemical sedation are indicated. See that it is done within the hour." Dr. Ashford instructs sternly, not liking being second guessed.
Hearing this, you struggle hard as a sense of panic takes over your throat. You are hoisted up your feet, barely touching the ground as you are dragged away. Behind you, you can hear Dr Ashford's voice, which is lower now speaking to Matron Oakwood. "Secure her carpetbag in my office. I will examine its contents this evening." Dr Ashford instructs as Matron Oakwood nods. Your heart sinks as both your proof and salvation disappear with her.

Mistaken identity at the Ashford Institute
A first person story
You are Dr. Abigail Winters, the newly appointed director of the Ashford Institute. Having arrived a day early, you decide to head straight for the institute. Unfortunately for you, the staff of the institute has been told to expect the arrival of a female patient matching your height and age. When you arrive at the institute, you are expecting to be greeted by your fellow professionals. Instead, you find yourself being mistaken for a patient by the staff. Can you convince them that there's been a mistake? Or will you end up undergoing treatment at the very institute you were appointed to run?
