At the Office

Well it wasn't HER office. Just a simple shared office for interns. The rest of them were out on training, their assigned rounds, or off the clock. So Aki had the place to herself as she sat down at her simple white desk. She had some time before her attending to her own duties and right now, she could use a bit of a meal. She put her new card binder away as she went to get a bite. Not noticing the faint glow emitting from it.

Aki took a bit to get back though. The nurse that had asked her to go for the card run flagged her down and asked for help on handing out the cards to the children. After that, Sela had found her and the two chatted away, mainly about her uncle and payment. When asked if she knew anything of the binder, Sela had shrugged. "Uncle G was always big on collecting things so finding some weird designer binder sounds on par for him." was all she offered. And then a doctor called her over to talk shop followed by another nurse and....

"Ah..., finally." Aki muttered as she got back to the shared office. Her stomach was growling and she was starting to feel a little woozy from not eating. That just showed her not to skip breakfast beyond just some granola bar. She slumped down at her desk as she unpacked the small lunch she'd picked up at the cafe housed inside the hospital. Simple sandwitch, portable soup and tea; just the thing to perk her up. Aki was looking forward to it as she started to place the food carefully around the binder.

.....Carefully around the Binder?

"Wha...," Aki gasped. She was sure she had put the binder away in the desk. While it was shared, there wasn't any reason for someone to go through her desk, not until she was assigned to a different hospital or rotated out with another intern. So why was the binder out? She opened it up just to see if anything was wrong, only to see that the inside was still the same.

About twenty pages of card holders, the sheet holding slots for 9 cards. On the first page three slots were filled by... well not cards. Aki had thought they were cards given the binder and size. Instead, they were small info cards by the look of it on index paper. Each one had a short info blurb about the crudely drawn character at the top of the card. All were female and rather... endowed by the look of it. Or the person that drew it couldn't do proportions. On the inside of the binder was an extra index card that had scribbled on it 'Say our Names' which was... off putting. Aki flipped through the info provided.

Nilani's card was covered in pink. She was listed to be a dancer and a klutz when not. She was supposed to be extremely upbeat and cheery if maybe a little dim. Her drawing showed a small figure bouncing around a club floor.

The Neon green listed Miri. Listed as dancer/muscle, her image showed a small figure carrying several beaten bodies out of a door. The card went on to say she was extremely sweet past her hard ass nature.

Vyrva was the final card, a stark white in color. Listed as a 'diva/mob boss' which was an odd combo. Her personality was listed as Playful and Stern, swapping from 'arm candy' to backstabbing brutal tycoon. Someone that could play whatever role was needed to get ahead. Her picture showed an a small figure in a huge fur coat, with a long cigarette holder, one leg crossed over the other.

An odd collection of fan made cards but they didn't seem to have any way of actually playing. Perhaps a different game someone played, or something being tested? And why was she instructed to say their names? All very very odd but.., why was she even entertaining this idea? While it couldn't hurt, she was still pretty hungry. "It couldn't hurt before eating..." Aki muttered.
