At a Loss

John was completely lost here. He was still disoriented and was beginning to think he was hallucinating. Sarah was definitely not the type to apologise to someone like him. In fact John had never seen her bow her head whatsoever. John was thinking of the current turn of events that led to this. A beam shit out from something when he squeezed his hand together. John peered at his occupied hand and saw a device that appeared like a cashier’s scanner. He didn’t remember owning such a thing but whatever it did Sarah became very apologetic. And, did she mention something about buying and an owner?

John looked at the still bowing and much to his surprise apologizing Sarah. “Sarah what’s going on? Stop bowing already!”

Sarah lifted her head which showed John another surprise. Sarah’s face was filled with tears as she still looked at John. “I’m sowwy John pwease forgive me.”

John was looking around surprised that there were no eyes on the himself and Sarah but wanted to get this over with none the less. “Listen Sarah I don’t know what kinda game you are playing but can you quit it. I don’t want any unwanted attention.”

Sarah’s mouth instantly snapped shut and the water works slowly turned off. Sarah looked at John now more composed and whispered “I’m sorry owner John I am not used to this yet. Do you forgive me?” Sarah asked this giving the biggest puppy dog eyes she could.

John was still at a loss he had never seen Sarah give such a look let alone apologize. John was just lost and confused and he was certain this scanner in his hand had something to do with it.
