Ask for an open relationship

Taking a deep breath, I decided to take the plunge.

"I've been thinking a lot lately sweetie," I said with a shaky voice. Jamie sat up straight as he realized I was about to say something serious. "I love you, I really do, but lately I have been going through a process of self reflection." He was holding his breath as he was looking at me, panic in his eyes.

"Don't worry! I'm not breaking up with you or anything like that!" He visibly relaxed at that. "But I do want to... experiment..." I looked at him in silence, as he tried to comprehend what I meant.

"Experiment?" he finally answered. "Like... what?"

"Like we allow each other to sleep with other people..." I held my breath as I waited for his reaction.
