As well as could be expected

As Futaba entered, she noticed Makoto and Akechi sitting in a booth. Akechi was facing away from the door and didn't see her right away, but Makoto immediately perked up.

"Good evening, Futaba!" She greeted with a smile.

Futaba dashed over to the table, giving Makoto a hug.

"Hm. And nothing for me?" Akechi said with a snarky smile. Even though she and Akechi had sort of buried the hatchet, Futaba still didn't exactly like him. He had been responsible for the **** of her mother after all, even if the actual issues surrounding that were murky. Futaba could both accept that Akechi was... Not exactly in his right mind at the time - and still probably not now - while also being upset.

"Akechi" Makoto sighed.

"Just a little joke." He replied dryly "I can't imagine that hearing I was here was the cause for her to come rushing over. Besides, I believe our business has concluded, Niijima-san" Akechi said as he stood from the table, adjusting his tie.

"You've been a great help. Hopefully I can solve this case before she gets here" he said as he made his way towards the door, dropping some money on the counter to pay for his coffee as he left.

"What was THAT all about?" Futaba asked

"He's working on a case surrounding my university. A few young women have gone missing lately and one of the families paid Akechi to look into it. However, apparently another detective from a small town is on her way here to look into things in a more official capacity as well" Makoto replied. "I agreed to meet and speak with Akechi regarding the disappearances. Though I'll be speaking with Naoto-san as well when she arrives"

Futaba scrunched her face. This news certainly brought the mood down a bit. That is, until her mind recalled a news story she had seen about a busty, blue haired detective.

"Wait! Naoto Shirogane?!" She yelped

"Oh. You know her?" Makoto asked.

"N-no! Well not personally. I've just seen her on TV and stuff! But SHE'S coming here?!"

"She is" Makoto giggled, excited by Futaba's enthusiasm. "But let's not make this all about business... It's been a few weeks since I saw you last, Futaba! How has school been going?" Makoto asked with a gentle, motherly smile.
