Anthony, Your Home

Your name is Anthony Mullins and you've been very very lucky. When the virus broke out you had just come back from grocery shopping. You remember the day clearly. You had just returned home and were finishing putting away the last of the perishables when your phone blared an alert.

Outbreak Warning! Stay indoors!

You quickly turned on the TV after that and found things in chaos. A new contagion had emerged, and people were turning into animals, or rather human animal hybrids. No one knew what was causing it and every minute more and more people fell to the virus. Before to long other reports emerged. These new hybrids had begun assaulting people, going after them sexually, and then stories emerged of all the victims turning into the hybrids as well. That was the last piece of relevant information that you saw that day, and tomorrow when you turned on the TV the signal went dead. That was a week ago. The hybrid crisis has continued nearly unabated as far as you can tell. Thankfully some television stations are still playing, it appears your city is ground zero for the epidemic and thankfully the problem is relatively localized, not that it hasn't spread. From the last report you saw the epidemic had taken over your entire state and several of the surrounding cities beyond. You don't know how much farther it will spread, before your internet was knocked out you saw some people theorizing that the U.S. would be taken over by the end of the month. Right now none of that is your concern though, because you're almost out of food. You estimate you have a few days worth left but that won't last long and so today you've decided to exit you're sanctuary in search of food.

The outside world doesn't look much different from what it used to be, at least not on your block from what you can see. You've gotten lucky again, and managed to find a moment to slip out with no hybrids in sight. You pray that your luck will last as you continue on, surveying your surroundings. To the south is the downtown area. Last you heard it was crawling with hybrids, but then again they probably have some really good stuff to loot. You don't think it's a great idea to head there but if you have to you have to; to the north the suburbs turn into a small collection of shops next to a park. Probably a safe enough bet but your not certain; and to the east there's a large shopping mall. Where to?
