Well, when I was younger I was really good at school so that's good. I guess I'm still smart, but I just don't really get the same consistent schedule and stuff anymore. I think I'm pretty nice to people. I've always felt kinda shy with girls but I was never a bully or anything like that.

Connie stops me and asks "Do you feel like girls aren't interested in you? What about boys?"

Guys joke around and act sexual with each other but I've never had someone actually be serious about liking me. Girls don't seem to joke about it as much. I guess most girls are waiting for guys to talk to them first but that's just like, such an old-fashioned way to think. It's not my fault I'm shy.

Connie smirks and wiggles their nose. "For the next week, I want you to try and think more confidently. Every morning, think about someone you're going to see that day. Imagine them being happy to see you, and something will change. The person will begin to like you twice as much as they already do. If they barely knew you, maybe they'll start asking you to get coffee. If it's a close friend, you might find out something exciting!"

I don't know if it really means anything or if it's just the placebo effect, but for the next week I think about a few different people in the morning. I go back to Connie's office the next week...
