Another man intervenes

Suddenly, she feels as if ropes had been thrown around her legs and torso. Viviana stumbles forward and falls flat on her face. She rolls over to look up, and discovers the man who’s tripped her with absolute horror.

While she did most of the magic the town needed, there was another person in town who could use magic. He was more academically inclined and most called him a wizard. She called him Theodorus.
