Another hard Quest

(Shuvi's POV)

Tears flow down my face as I am looking at the finishing scene on my screen while hearing another message on my phone. But all that isn't what makes me so happy. I feel it. I am losing weight somehow. This app of a virus, I thought was lying, is real. Be it about me being closer to Ares or about me losing 10kg like the reward promised. Everything really happened.

Ares and I talked about things, I never thought would be possible. His dream of getting a harem or me being a streamer. I even said I wanted to be a pornstar at one point. But that is shadowed by one thing. Losing 10kg in seconds while doing nothing.

I am fat and I tried a lot. Be it eating healthier, doing sport or other trends. I tested out a lot just to be more down than before. Nothing really worked for as I just fall back into either eating too much or too unhealthy. Even if I lose 5kg after many weeks of hard work, I would just gain them again after some time.

First, I thought it is just me eating wrong. Then, I thought I am sick, so I went to some doctors. From them I just got said, live healthier, eat healthier and do more sport. Where did it eat? Getting laughed at, losing my 'friends' and more just for me being fat. In the end, I tried to ignore my real life and hide in the giant world of the internet. But how could it be that easy? After getting to know some new people, I had a wonderful time till one day. They asked for a video talk and I said yes. After that, they were the same as the others. Asking me how I could be that fat while laughing at me. Saying, I trolled them before because they thought I was just shy and not an ugly mess of fat.

At that moment, a world broke for me. After that I hide even more than ever. But even after that dark moments of my life, I still played games just with another group. I played mainly with Ares and Sven whom I thought I would never open to as to never get hurt like that again.

But now everything changes. I opened myself to Ares and got even closer to him. I finished a quest of an app I thought was a virus, just for the reward to lighten up my world. I look at my phone just to see if this app is still there. And it is on my phone with new messages.

(Ares's POV directly after Shuvi's "Yes")

While you only hear soft weeps from Shuvi, you give her another quest and that will be the last hard quest for her for a time.

Shuvi will receive the following advanced quest: "Hide your changes from your real life for 24h."

Select a reward from the three choices:

• You will better at hiding things from other people.
• The people of your real life won't think of your changes too much.
• lose 20kg

Shit. Another hard choice. While loosing 20kg would help her for the moment, it isn't what she needs. People change, emotions change but if one changes too much, it won't be good. As I played a game with her, I thought about the rewards till now. While some of the rewards were more random than others but most of them had something to do with the quest. And now I want her to get a reward which will help her out in her real life.

Think about it. If a person loses 20kg or more in a matter of days who wouldn't look at it and especially if a woman got more beautiful because of that. So what I want is for her reward to help her out. So the question is lies between the first and second reward. Hm, the first may be better in general but I don't her to automatically hide things from me. Second reward it is.

Now, lets wait for her to calm down first. Maybe she still wants to play some games.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Shuvi screams in my ears, as I start to have a little panic attack.

"What happened? Is everything fine? Say something? If you don't say anything, I can't help you?" I ask her without hesitation.

"Why? Why do I need to do that? Why couldn't it be an easy one?" Shuvi questions herself multiple times which makes you only feel worse.

I shouldn't have done that, but what now? I can't change her quest. My only chance is to help her somehow.

After what feels like hours of calming her down, Shuvi is able to talk again.

"What happened that makes you shift so much? You aren't pregnant, or?" I ask her before doing a joke. It couldn't get worse, or?

"W-will you even believe me if I-I told you?" "How would we know without you trying it?"

"Good. So, I-I suddenly got an app which I never installed. First I thought I get a virus or something, but the app gave a quest which I fulfilled. From that I got a reward, which makes me thinking it is real. After that, I got a second quest. The quest was to win a match and we won. As for the reward it made me lose weight in real life. Not an avator or an char, but I lost weight in real life in a matter of seconds. Just as I thought, I could lose more weight with it and it gave me an impossible mission. I-I don't know the i-if the quest w-will p-punis-sh me i-if I fail it." As she finish her explanation, she is back to crying to herself.
I feel crappy as I created the quest which is the cause of this. I want to tell her everything, but I swallow it down as that could make everything worse.

"Did the 'app' say anything about punishments or is there any information page or icon?" You ask her slowly as to make her understand everything.

"I-I don't think s-so. Sniff. Give me a second." "Sure, take your time."

I wait and pray that there is nothing like that there.

"N-no, there is nothing." "Then hear me out. If this quest is as impossible as you say, then there should either directly stand a reward or is no punishment. Think about it. If it really gives you an impossible quest which will makes you loses, then why did you get it in the first place. Even if it gives you some kg back, can't you just fulfill other mission to lose them again. So, what even is the mission?" I try to give an assure her that everything will work out before asking about her quest. If she says nothing, I can only tell her everything about the Quest Master app.

"I-I need to hide from everyone that I losed 10kg. For 24h it says." She says before falling silent.

"Then what makes it so hard for you? Do you get weighted tomorrow? Will someone see you naked who really knows you? Or anything else?" I say what needs to be asked. I don't really understand what makes this quest an advanced quest. Just live another day like you did every other day.

"N-no, b-but what if someone notices i-it." "Isn't it more of a you question than anything else?" I bluntly say as walking on egg shells will bring her nothing. "If I understand you correct. You need to live another day, like you did your entire life with just one difference. You are trying to hide that you losed a bit of your weight."

"B-but..." She wants to counter but finds nothing in the end as I continue.

"Didn't you lost weight before? What kind of reactions brought it if you didn't say anything about it? Did they thought you lost weight or not? You don't need to answer that. Just think about it." I pause as she needs time to think about everything.

The more I say, the more I understand how that can be an advanced quest. Shuvi is too happy about losing wait to not say it. Even if she didn't say it, her face would tell everyone. I saw her picture and if she didn't lose 50kg or more since its creation, hiding 10kg is like hiding a tatao deep under your clothes. You know it is there, but noone else will notice it till either your reactions or you say it.

"T-then, is it really possible to do this quest." Shuvi says with shaken voice.

"Yes. The hardest part of this quest is probably for you to calm down and do nothing different. An impossible quest would be one, you couldn't influence. Like that someone else needs to help you or do something. You could never know if this person really helps your or do something you want." I explain to her.

"I-I am sorry." She apologises and goes quiet again.

"You are welcome. Do you want to play again?" I say before she just starts the match making again.
