Chapter 4 by Alostsoul Alostsoul

Whose at table number 2?

An odd woman in a trench coat

If you thought your shift wasn’t going to be any more abnormal then it already was well…. The next customer looked like something out of a old school noir comic. They wore a wide brim black fedora upon there head. Their face was obscured by a red silk scarf, and what looked like motor cycle goggles. They wore a long buttoned up trench coat which looked like something and old timey detective work like wear and, also had on large black boots, and black leather gloves.

What in the world, you thought as you approached the table. No seriously what the heck were you supposed to say? Usually you could pretty easily find something to get on a customers good side either by appearance, or a gut feeling you were pretty good at getting on people’s wavelength when they came. This person however you couldn’t even tell if they were male or female, and you couldn’t get any sense of what they were like.

You approached the table lacking a bit of your usual confidence when talking to a new customer. “Hello there and how are you do this evening.” You said in a friendly voice, while putting on a cute and warm smile. You were hoping to set a mood of comfort and openness. The person was looking at a menu, they didn’t respond but they turned to look at you. They started for an uncomfortable amount of time.

“Um is their anything you would like to order today in particular, or would you like a recommendation?” Ok you thought now this is weird the outfit they were wearing was strange enough but now you were picking up a awkward vibe from this person.

“How, how do I order?” The person spoke, their voice was unmistakably female. Yet something was off it was very stolid almost completely devoid of emotion.

“You just tell me what meal and, drink you want and, I will bring it out to you in a little bit, is this your first time eating at femboy hooters honey?”

“You just give me the food if I ask for?” Again the strange woman spoke with almost no change in tone or pitch, it was strange like her words weren’t spoken casually, but more how would you describe it as? Purposely, yeah that’s it every word seemed to spoken in purpose with its single reason for existing being for communication. There was no waste no hesitation, no flair just clear purpose.

You laughed awkwardly flipping your pony tail behind your shoulder “Gives a silly way to say you buy it but, yeah I guess I technically do give away.”

The woman looked at you tilting her head slightly, then she reached into her jacket and pulled out a wallet opening to show the dollars inside it. “With these right?” She said referring to the money in the wallet.

She doesn’t know what money is, you thought. Now this is a strange one. Is she foreign, maybe that would explain her strange speech. Yet she didn’t have an accent weird. Perhaps she has a mental disorder that hindered her social interactions, you felt a bit guilty thinking that. If that was the case your awkwardness certainly wasn’t helping to make things easier for her.

“Yes that’s right how about you let me see how much you have and, I’ll tell you what you can get.” You said trying sound as friendly as possible. The women slowly handed you the wallet you counted the money, she had at-least a hundred dollars in the wallet. You also noticed their was no ID in the wallet or credit cards just cash. She stiffened a bit as you paused looking through the wallet.

“Are you nervous I’m gonna steal some thing sweetie, don’t worry I’m no thief I’m a good boy.”you said

“No it’s just this is a strange place to me, I don’t get out much.” The woman averted your eyes.

This must be one of her first times out and about in this country. Pangs of sympathy struck your heart, you touched her gloved hand and patted it. “That’s okay you should always try new things and, go to new places once in a while.”

“Can I get this.” She pointed at one of the meal combos.

“No problem sweetie I’ll get that order for you shortly.” You wrote down the order on your notepad.

Then you leaned in close to the woman and spoke in almost a whisper. “ I also think your brave for trying new things sweetie, I hope I can see you around her more often.” With a wink you walked off to put the order in and, moved on to the next table.

What’s happening at table 3
