An abandoned house

The old hideout was a derelict old house in the woods on the outskirts of town. It was probably one of the largest buildings in town, certainly the largest house at the least. It was only two stories tall (with an attic and basement), but it was very wide. The ground floor itself was wide and open, with a large dining room, kitchen, lounge, ballroom, and conservatory. The second floor was filled with almost identical sets of rooms. You always assumed it was either some rich man’s private retreat or a hotel for the well-to-do.

Why it was abandoned, no one knew, but when you and your friends discovered it while playing hide-and-seek, it became a passion project to renovate it into a boys’ hideout. In the many years since, love and labor has turned that disgusting **** trap into a building to be proud off. The debris was cleared out, the furniture was salvaged, anything structurally unsound was sealed-off or repaired, the walls were repainted, one summer you all pooled your money for a power washer and hosed the whole place clean, and just this year Tim had managed to get the electricity wired up and running (He’s attending an electrician’s trade school in the fall).

While the old place certainly wasn’t anywhere near being up to code, it was the pride and joy of you and your friends. And that was why, before you all left town for college, you all decided to invite your entire class to the most off-the-walls party this town had ever known. And this was the party you walk into.
