An Interesting Dinner

“You look like the cat that ate the canary,” Mary said as she looked across the table at her son.

“Yeah well, I figured out where I want to go to school next year,” Thomas replied.

“I thought you had applied to the State University,” Mary said.

“I found someplace better, WMIT,” Thomas announced, Rob told me about it, and I visited their website.

“OK…,” Mary said, as she picked up her tablet from the table and searched for the website, “Wet Matter Institute of Technology, how did they pick that name?”

“It’s under ‘about’, but it refers to AI being software thinking, and human thinking being “wetware”.

“Rudy Rucker,” Mary interrupted.

“What?” Thomas asked.

“He wrote The Ware Tetralogy. Second book. That’s where they got Wetware from,” Mary explained.

“I’ll have to read them sometime, anyway this university has a practice of making sure it’s male students get regular sex, they claim it keeps them focused on studying, and they have studies to back it up,” Thomas expounded.

“They also have a $50K per semester tuition, I’m afraid that’s out of our league champ,” Mary said, exploring the site further.

“Yeah mom, but if you join the group providing sex to the students the tuition is waved,” Thomas said excitedly.

“Yep, here it is WHORES – Women Helping Others Relax and Enjoy School. Somebody has a wicked sense of humor,” Mary said. “So you get free tuition and I get 18 year old cock. Sounds too good to be true. Do you know anybody that actually went there?” Mary asked.

“Yeah, Rob’s brother graduates this year, and Rob said he has already been accepted. He couldn’t go there while his brother was there because his mom… didn’t want to work that hard,” Thomas concluded lamely.

“Well I can go check with her, but if she looks at me like I am crazy you’re grounded until age 40, without Internet,” Mary threatened.

“Aw mom, it’s legit! They have a website and Rob’s brother was there!”

“And anybody can build a website, including you. All I’m saying is if I am getting a huge joke being pulled on me I am NOT going to be happy being made to look like an idiot,” Mary said.

Thomas contemplated that, “Rob certainly could pull it off to make me look stupid, but he isn’t like that. Now if it was Lucas telling me…”

“Sounds like you are ready to throw Rob under a bus,” Mary commented.

“Only if he already threw me under one. But I think it’s legit,” Thomas concluded.

“OK then, I’ll check it out with his mom tomorrow,” Mary said.
