What's next?
An Explanation
Danny just stared in confusion. Why had the words vanished? Was this a trick? he thought. He decided to try again, and write something random to see if the words would vanish again. "It's raining outside", he wrote, the words Vanishing once more.
"This is stupid," he mumbled to himself, throwing the pen onto the desk and falling back onto his bed.
It was then that he noticed his room had gotten darker. He looked towards the window, only to see that the nice warm weather, was replaced with heavy rain.
"Odd," he said, but quickly dismissed it as a coincidence.
"DANNY!" His Mother, Stephanie, shouted upstairs. It was time for Tea.
Once he'd finished eating Danny went to talk to his Dad, who was in the Living Room.
"You ok son?" Andy asked, "You look like you're gonna ask me something"
"Hmm, oh yeah," Danny replied, "Did you leave a notepad in my room?," he asked.
Andy's face turned to that of concern, "No, why?" he asked.
"Well, when I got to my room when I came home, it was on my Desk, but the weird thing is, after I wrote in it, the words vanished", Danny explained, neglecting to mention the reflection of the old man,
Andy sighed, he knew exactly what the notepad was, what he didn't know, is how it had gotten there, "You didn't write in it did you?" he asked sternly.
"Just my name, and that it was raining", Danny replied, thinking nothing of it.
Andy turned to the window, the rain was still falling, he sighed again, this time in more of a relieving way.
"Well, it's a good job it was just that, I should probably explain it to you," he said after a couple of minutes staring outside, "When I was around your age, I was given that notepad by an old man," Danny's eyes widened a little,"Shortly after that I discovered what ever I wrote in it became true, and it changed my life in more ways than one, " He said, looking through to the Kitchen, "I was told that it would only work for me though, so I don't know how you caused this, " he gestured to the rain, " All I can say is, be careful, it seems to have chosen you now, and that must be for a reason," he added.
Danny didn't know what to say, why had his Dad never mentioned this before?
"I will, I promise," Danny finally replied, "Thankyou". And with that, he returned to the room.
