Alice

Alice was 25. Black hair tied up into a bun with bangs. A dust of freckles on her face. She was the manager of The Pony. She didn’t own the hotel, but had worked their solo for the past two years.

Someone moved her hand. She was a light sleeper and this roused her. She lifted her head as she noticed footsteps walking away — catching the back of a lanky hunched black hooded man.

He kicked down the door. Pulled his pants down. She saw the afraid woman inside. Luckily she had her trusty metal baseball bat.

WHACK! The man fell flaccid.

“Are you okay miss?!” Alice said.

Alice saw Nadia. Her heart bet fast. Long red hair. Cream white skin. An athletic curvy figure in underwear. She stared for a moment in awe, then blushed.

“I’m sorry…” she looked away and reached for the door to close, but it had been kicked off the hinges.

“Thank you… You saved me,” Nadia said.

“Don’t mention it…” Alice said, “If you get dressed so I can get you a full refund….”

“Ah… I don’t have anywhere to go…” Nadia looked at the ground.

“It’s late… You can stay in the staff quarters for the night…” she said, “it’s next to reception—“

Alice looked at the **** man. She knew she couldn’t call the cops. Her hotel was involved in so much criminal activity. If this becomes a crime scene, they may sniff out other shit. Then she’d be in deep shit…

“Okay,” Nadia said, dressing and following Alice. Nadia went into the staff quarters. It was the same as her room but a bit bigger and it was furnished with all of Alice’s belongings: cat posters, Lego Star Wars sets, and a gaming set up. It reminded her of Greg.

“You can sleep here tonight…” Alice said, “I’m Alice by the way…”

“Nadia.”

“Nice to meet you Nadia, but sorry it was under these circumstances…” Alice sighed.

Alice called a number.

“I need you to pick up a trouble maker…” Alice said.

“Of course… I’ll be there in 20 minutes…” A deep voice said.
