Chapter 2 by Ninj8 Ninj8

Who is afflicted?

Adrianna (21) & Camilla (20), friends

The sun shone brightly over a quiet town, its citizens going about their respective days, none the wiser to many of the problematic experiences some individuals were facing. Adrianna and Camilla, two childhood friends, settled on a comfortable couch in the living room of the former’s house, creating a warm and inviting space for their hangout. The house, sitting in the more wealthy part of town, rarely had any instances of strange occurrences happening.

Adrianna, exuding confidence, sported a white shirt with black booty shorts and white sneakers, her hazel eyes gleaming with excitement. Camilla, full of admiration, wore a lively red top, fitted jeans, and red Converse hi-tops that accentuated her Latina features. They sipped on their drinks, feeling their worries melt away as they chatted and laughed. The television played in the background, providing ambient noise to complement their shared stories and lighthearted banter. Snacks lined the coffee table, beckoning them to indulge.

Camilla, grabbing one of the many snacks from the table, couldn't help but steal glances at Nate's bedroom door. She plucked up the courage to ask Adrianna a question, "So, how's your brother doing these days? I haven't seen much of him lately."

Adrianna sighed, giving Camilla a knowing smile. "You know Nate, always has his head buried in books or locked away in that room of his. Don't worry, one of these days, he'll come out and realize what he's missing. I have a feeling deep down he might be hiding something."

Camilla raised an eyebrow, a mix of surprise and intrigue on her face. "Really? What makes you say that?"

Adrianna leaned in closer, her voice low and conspiratorial. "I caught him eyeing you the other day. It was so subtle, but I saw that flicker of interest in his gaze. He may have even lingered on certain parts of you…"

Camilla's eyes widened, a mix of hope, uncertainty, and redness crossing her features. "No way, really?”

Adrianna smirked and faced away from Camilla, “That’s all the info you’ll get from me!”

Camilla huffed, dissatisfied with Adrianna’s unwillingness to divulge what she knew about Nate but decided to not press further. The knowledge that she was at least on his radar was good enough for her, and the thought made her giggle. Adrianna, knowing what Camilla was thinking, giggled with her as their laughter filled the room.

As the evening progressed, they dived into their favorite TV series, enveloped in the gripping plotlines and lively characters. Adrianna playfully nudged Camilla's side, teasing her about a character's sudden change of heart, earning a playfully exaggerated eye-roll in response. It didn’t take long for the episode to conclude, Adrianna and Camilla immediately grabbing both the snacks and drinks, moving them into the kitchen.

With the dishes washed and snacks packed away, the girls went upstairs and entered Adrianna’s bedroom. Camilla's eyes darted around the room, scanning the various bookshelves and trinkets on display. It looked just as lovely as every other time she had come over. Her curiosity piqued when she noticed something peculiar. Everything looked like it belonged in the room, except for an old-looking out of place book on Adrianna's desk.

Curiosity getting the better of her, Camilla pointed towards the book. "Adrianna, what's that? It looks so mysterious."

Adrianna followed Camilla's gaze and smiled knowingly. "Ah, that's the mysterious book I found while rummaging through my deceased grandmother's old belongings. It's been sitting there for a while, waiting for someone brave enough to explore its secrets..."

Camilla's eyes widened with interest, her voice barely containing her excitement. "Secrets? What kind of secrets?"

Adrianna shrugged, a playful glint in her eyes. "I have no idea. It could be a spellbook, a trove of forgotten knowledge, or simply a collection of my grandmother's photos."

Camilla's curiosity intensified, and her eager voice filled the room. "Can we open it? I want to see what's inside!"

Adrianna grinned, her expression saying more than words could. They huddled around the desk, their excitement palpable. Camilla took initiative, reverently lifting the book's worn cover, revealing aging pages decorated with intricate calligraphy and faded illustrations. The room fell into near-silence, distant ethereal windchimes accompanying the turning of each page.

Adrianna squinted her eyes, scanning the room, searching for the source of the mystic noise. “Are you doing that?”

Camilla, as if in a trance, didn’t look away from the book. Her eyes locked on each line of text, trying desperately to make sense of any of it. “No…”

Camilla’s eyes briefly glossed over some text that mentioned feet but she couldn’t make out why. There were crude drawings, some of feet, others of breasts. But all of them had the same thing, a blue aura surrounding them. The only set to have a continuation of the sequence was the foot one, and the final drawing depicted a foot with a smile on the sole.

Camilla, still in a distant state, mused about the drawings and their untold secrets “…what the hell does any of this mean?”

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

“Hey! I’m gonna grab dinner with some friends. Either of you want anything?” It was Nate, yelling from the other side of Adrianna’s door.

The sudden knocking in combination with Nate’s voice made Camilla jump and lose concentration. She dropped the ancient book onto the ground with a thud, the distant chimes ceasing. Adrianna, not noticing Camilla drop the book, responds to Nate. “Cammy wants one of those chicken burgers! And make it a meal please!”

Nate’s footsteps were heard walking away, accompanied by his immediate and eager response. “Okay! I’ll be back in a bit!”

Adrianna giggled, “Thanks bro!” She smiled and lowered her voice as Nate left, “There! You can talk to Nate when he comes…back?”

Adrianna turns, noticing Camilla staring at the book as a light-blue glow emanates from it. The glow begins to pulse, growing brighter as it fills the room with its sickly hue. “What did you do?!”

Camilla’s eyes dart between the book and her friend, panic beginning to build as the blue glow envelope both Adrianna's shoes and her own. “I didn’t do anything! Why’s it doing THAT?! OUR SHOES ARE GLOWING!!”

A blinding white light engulfs the room as Adrianna stumbles backward and onto what she assumes is her bed. Camilla wasn’t so lucky, falling onto the floor near the doorway with her Latina rear cushioning her landing. She felt her feet twitch oddly as her shoes slipped off her socked feet, followed shortly by the feeling of cool air hitting her soles as her socks were also mysteriously discarded. Throughout that whole sequence, she felt her legs being tugged around as if someone were controlling them. How or why was completely lost on her as she yelled in shock, “WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!”

Adrianna, in her own state of shock, yelled back, “I DON’T KNOW! I CAN’T SEE ANYTHING!!”

After a few seconds, the blinding light receded back into the book as it ominously flipped through all the pages in reverse before slamming the cover shut. The room, back to its original state, now shrouded in silence as Adrianna and Camilla stared at each other, both girls wide eyed from the event and both just as clueless to what they just unleashed.

Camilla rubbed her eyes, briefly looking at the book, expecting it to start glowing again, “Okay… let’s just take a second… and figure out what that was…”

Adrianna gazed at the book, her eyes not leaving their target as she nodded in response, “Yeah… that was definitely some kind of magic. But how—“

“Boring!”

“Who gives a shit!”

Two female voices shouted, cutting her off. Both Adrianna and Camilla jolted, scanning the room for the source of the new voices but they couldn’t see anything out of the ordinary. It was then, when Adrianna glossed over Camilla’s form, did she notice her discarded shoes and socks right next to where she sat, “When did you take your shoes off?”

Camilla groaned as she propped herself up against the door. She scratched her head in confusion as she eyed her bare feet, “I didn’t… they came off when I couldn’t see anything.”

With a grunt, Camilla reached over and grabbed a sock, leaning with it toward her left foot. Just as she was about to pull it over the bare appendage it suddenly yanked itself away, “What the…?!”

She tried again, but this time her foot slapped the sock out of her hand, “Hey bitch! We just got ourselves out! What makes you think we want to go back in?!”

“Clearly all her intelligence went into those big tits and giant ass…”

Camilla stopped moving, confusion etched across her face as she registered the remark. But when she looked at Adrianna, her friend simply stared at her, horrified.

Camilla’s left foot flexed its toes with its own volition, a mouth now apparent on the sole of her friend’s foot snarling at her, “Quit staring! Fucking whore…”

Adrianna watched as the mouth on Camilla’s right foot smirked as it cracked its toes menacingly, “What?! Don’t tell me you’re one of those FREAKS who are into feet! Fucking weirdo!”

Camilla, now understanding where the voices were coming from, partly from hearing the voices reverberate from within the soles of her feet, started to scream. Both of Camilla’s feet groaned, the left one pulling her leg around to show her own sole to her face, “Just shut up! You’re so dramatic, and for what?!”

The sight of the mouth on her sole didn’t help. Her screams continued when her left foot suddenly shot itself forward, shoving her own toes into her mouth. She gagged as her tongue was **** to feel each sweaty toe, their salty taste lingering in her mouth as her foot started to wiggle them across her teeth. Camilla fought back, grabbing her foot by the ankle and trying to yank the rogue appendage out, but no matter how much she tried her foot wouldn’t budge. Her feet were too strong.

Adrianna could only watch, mortified as her friend was gagged by her very own foot. Her body went numb and her hearing became dull as she continued to watch the display.

Camilla’s right foot grabbed a shoe with its toes and tossed it at Adrianna, snapping her out of her state of shock as it barely missed her head, “HEY! I SAID STOP STARING, FREAK!”

Adrianna put her hands up, trying to plead with Camilla’s angry right foot but no words came out. Instead, the foot started tugging Camilla’s body forward, planting itself against the floor and pulling itself, inch by inch, toward her. Her friend, now in tears, grabbed the doorknob in an attempt to stop her right foot’s advances. The action only made it more angry as it turned and faced Camilla, striking her across her cheek, “Yeah! How’s that feel bitch!? Keeping us in those dirty shoes without a thought for how we feel! Well guess WHAT?! Now we’re never getting into another pair of shoes or crusty old socks ever again!”

What Happens Next?
