Chapter 2 by Skar4114 Skar4114

Whose story do we follow?

Additional world building details (for authors and curious readers)

These points I’m adding in this chapter are not necessarily part of the main premise, but I will consider them as canon for my own stories, and I thought it would be cool to expand on the lore a little more for other potential writers and curious readers to see.

Frequencies of Bonds: for most people, a Bond may happen once every couple months. If someone has been taking care of their needs daily and hasn’t randomly fallen in love in about 4 months, they can already tell a Bond is on the way. However, exceptions do exist: some people bond way more frequently than others, maybe once a month or even once a week. How does someone deal with falling in love against their better judgment all the time?

Conversely, there are those who become bondholders for others way more often. These people are the most likely to have a harem forming around them, a constant flood of lovers and admirers to suit their every whim and sexual desire. How could a person exploit the fact they have an almost guaranteed chance to Bond with whoever they sleep with?

Relationships and cheating: as you might expect, romantic relationships work differently in a world where sex and love are thrown around far more frequently and callously than our own. Everyone in this world must have sex with at least two different people every day, so as a result, having sex with someone outside of your relationship is in no way considered cheating. What is now considered cheating is when a deep emotional connection, that is in no way connected to a Bond, forms outside of an already established relationship.

How sex is viewed: since sex is now, on top of a pleasurable activity, also a physical need, people naturally see it in a way more normalizing light. Some jobs may offer “sex breaks” where people go for quickies in the middle of their shifts, and others may offer a full “Bond leave” of usually a week, if you provide the necessary doctor’s note and your bondholder proves to be particularly enthralling. Public sex can be outlawed in some places, while it may be more common in others. Although, anywhere someone under 20 years old may be present, sex is usually forbidden.

Pleasure centers: now that sex is as common as food and water, there exist establishments called “pleasure centers” focused on servicing those needs as well. They don’t advertise themselves as brazenly in public because of minors, but walk through the doors of any of these establishments and you’re in for a world of lust and debauchery. These places can cater to their customers, sometimes offering specific genders to satisfy specific needs, for example, one pleasure center that offers exclusively people with penises and is focused on alleviating the blowjob type of necessity, while another offers only feminine presenting staff, but can cater to every single one of a person’s sexual needs. There are even family friendly pleasure centers that focus exclusively on the feeling up of breasts over the clothes, offering a “fondling fun and feel good time for everyone!” Any smart business person knows, however, that it pays to have establishments catering to complementing needs in close proximity to one another.
