Adam, a 33 year old Technician

The person who was looking down at earth at that very moment was Adam, a technician working at the International space station. He is the typical nerd who can communicate better with machines than with the people and he liked it here where except for some bigger nerds there are absolutely nothing. Which means he doesn't have to stutter and make a fool of himself everytime he sees a beautiful girl.

He was bullied a lot and never got interested in any physical activities. He is a little overweight standing at 6 feet - with a 4 inch dick which added to his shyness. He doesn't believe in religious bullshits and had a bad childhood at home where his father was a nutcase who kept religion as the first priority than his children. At school, it's the bullies torment and the rejections of girls turned him in to someone who never saw the world as anything but cruel.

He left home finishing school earlier and joined college which he aced and got in to nasa as an intern and moved up faster than anyone ever seen. His mom passed away when he was 8. He and his sister Jen lived with their father ever since. His father died in an accident when he was in nasa. When he heard the news he went back to his hometown but was shocked that his sister was arrested for shoplifting some makeup items. He got her out with a good lawyer first and then held the memorial for his dad.

His sister moved in with him for some time and found work as a waitress in the town and moved out. She was the only one who loved him for who he is and she is the only girl he can talk to easily and so they always shared a special bond. She is always an outgoing party girl and never concentrated on her studies but actually a kind soul. Even the trouble she got in for shoplifting was she just wanted to try a lipstick and his father never allowed. Teenage curiosity got her in to trouble.

Adam worked a lot and got selected as the technical specialist for communications in the space station. After moving out she got herself pregnant with some wack job asshole who did not even returned her calls once he knew what happened. This news came to him 2 days before he was being sent to the space station.

Now after 6 months in space for Adam she must be atleast a good 7 months pregnant. Then came the news about the solar flare which can cause mayhem to the station and everyone was ordered to return home. The space station was undergoing some repairs and it has to be finished before the solar flare. He volunteered to stay back the military way (they told him to do so) and the rest left to earth. He has to finish the work and use the escape pod to return to earth.

He had completed everything and in next 8 hours he will be using the escape pod. He was looking out and watching earth and passing time until then. He suddenly saw something floating hear him in his hindsight. He turned and took it. It was a gold ring with a peculiar looking red coloured gem on it. He thought someone leaving in a hurry had left it. He grumbled and took the ring and have no idea whose it was. He will return it once he got down and put it on his finger to make sure that he won't lose it. It gave a strange feeling which he ignored but it fit him well, atleast.

Now what can he do to pass the time for next 8 hours?
