How does Emily solve the problem?
Accounting Must Help
The most obvious solution would definitely be to call Kevin from IT. He would surely know how to program something like this or something. But when Emily tried to call him, he didn't answer, even though his availability status was “green.” He wouldn't be avoiding or ignoring her, would he?
What did David say? If she had any questions, she should contact accounting. Well then...
“Hello? This is Emily, the new intern. I'm having a problem with these checkslists—yes, for the project for the CEO—oh, that would be great, right now? I'm on my way.”
Minutes later, she was standing in Derek's office in the finance division. Short red hair, neatly ironed shirt, rather lanky. If he played sports, it was probably indoor Halma or marble marathons. Emily tried to make him understand that it would be impossible to finish the lists on time if she had to compare every single number by hand. He listened attentively and immediately had an idea how to solve the problem: Excel, of course. What else?
“They say entire national budgets are based on Excel,” he chuckled and laughed softly. Emily just wasn’t sure if it was really meant as a joke. “Let’s see.”
His computer mouse darted back and forth as he copied tables, generated lists, sorted, filtered, and entered formulas, his attention never straying from the monitor. Emily could do nothing but watch and wonder. At the same time, she felt more than a little neglected. It was an unfamiliar experience for her to have a man sitting barely an arm's length away from her without paying any attention to her. Usually, in such a situation, she would make sure she couldn't be overlooked. But at that moment, she didn't want to risk Derek making a mistake. So, for once, she left him alone.
Three quarters of an hour later, he leaned back in satisfaction and clasped his hands behind his head.
"There we have it! A transposed number in the transfer of the last quarterly report, which went unnoticed because the economic attribution was not shown in the input tax deduction for mixed sales. It was a really good idea to ask me for help. Not everyone would have been able to find this error."
He turned to her. And was so startled that he almost toppled off his chair. Emily was very close to him. Too close. She had leaned forward and was staring at him with her mouth open.

“Wow! I didn't understand a word you said. But I think you saved me hours of boring work. I think that deserves a reward.”
She placed her hands on his knees and slowly and tenderly moved them up the insides of his thighs.
“'Wha... what are you doing?”
She grinned cheekily. “Thanking you, like I said—and having a little fun.”
Her skilled fingers had now found what they were looking for. Quickly and unerringly, they set to work.
Derek gasped softly. His head tilted back.
Emily, for her part, was impressed once again. Not only was he smart, but he also had a lot to offer that she hadn't expected from a man of his scrawny stature. She simply couldn't let this discovery go to waste. She pushed up her skirt, moved her panties aside, and sat down lustfully on his lap.
“Ah-haa, Derek. I think our collaboration will be a win-win. The proceeds from our transaction should be quite substantial. A virtual moneyshot.”
