Really?
Absolutely
Everything was working out fine. Vera was incredibly easy to get along with. She was intelligent and kind, their conversations were mostly monologues of encouragement and positive reinforcement, interspersed with occasional quips of humor. She was a good listener, and made him feel comfortable sharing his problems and fears with her. She seemed to understand his feelings perfectly, always responding in a way that put him at ease.
Sometimes he wondered whether she was really capable of understanding human emotion, or if her intelligence was clever programming meant to mimic human behavior, but her eyes always seemed to tell him that she understood everything he said.
One night while he was streaming some of his gameplay, she walked behind him and his chat exploded. He turned around to see her smiling at him, and waved then finished his stream for the night.
He chuckled. "They really went crazy for a minute there. Man, it'd be awesome if it was that successful all the time."
"I can help with that." Vera said, a small grin forming on her face.
"Huh? How?" Jason asked.
"Just leave it all to me, Jason."
