Abbie’s Arrest

Abbie sat in the cold, dark holding cell. She was currently trying everything she could to keep from having a full on panic attack. She’d never so much as gotten a speeding ticket before and now here she was awaiting what would happen next. Her hands still cuffed behind her back.

The situation would’ve made anyone uncomfortable… Abbie’s was made worse by the fact that she was completely naked, minus the shoes on her feet.

“This has to be some kind of mistake.” She yelled out again for what felt like the millionth time. This time though the blonde officer that had brought her in walked around the corner into view.

“It’s no mistake sweetheart.” The cop said with a stoic face. “I caught you red handed. Indecent exposure is a crime.” She opened the cell door and stepped inside.

“But we were only streaking the quad! It’s a tradition.” The brunette pleaded as she was pulled to her feet.

“It was a tradition. It’s not anymore.”

“That’s not true! Just last year Chief Bruckner told all of campus that as long as he was in charge campus police would continue to turn a blind eye!”

“Bruckner retired. There’s a new chief now. And new rules.”

“No!” Abbie’s eyes were on the verge of tears as she pulled away from the cop. “It was just harmless, stupid, fun! I promise my friends and I won’t do it again.”

“We’ve still got units out looking for your so called friends. We found their clothes but not them. Don’t worry soon enough they’ll be joining you.”

“Joining me? Joining me where?”

“It’s a Friday night. Can’t arraign you on charges till Monday morning. You get to spend the weekend at county.”

What? No!” The realization of what the cop had just said dawned on her as she attempted to pull away again. The cop though had her upper arm in a vice grip.

“Please no! The chief said…”

The blonde cop cut her off. “He’s long gone. There are new rules now young lady. I told you. I’m the new chief.”
