Chapter 4
by NuclearSummer
Who's story is being told?
Aaron Cosmatos, Hollywood agent
Aaron groaned in pleasure. He had lots of work to do, but right now there was a head bobbing between his legs, and he didn’t want to ruin the magic moment.
Sitting in his office, overlooking the better part of the LA skyline, he was trying to comprehend how things had changed so much in such a short span of time. Not that he complained. He was literally living the dream, but while the outcome had been pleasurable, the last couple of months had truly been insane.
“How strange are the ways of mother nature!” he muttered philosophically to himself.
To say the ebonization created challenges for various aspects of American life would be an understatement of gargantuan proportions. Still, like with all major changes, things eventually work out in the long run. No other place was this more evident than in the studio system of Hollywood.
The sudden arrival of the racial change-wave caused immediate upheaval among major film studios. Most productions went on indefinite hiatus when a majority of white female cast-members were hit by the widespread effects over the next four months. Panic hit, bringing the industry to a near complete halt.
Actors and audiences alike were confused and worried. How could one of the biggest media machines in the world go on like normal when some of the most famous faces in the world had changed race and now spoke with heavy accents?
Among studio head honchos in LA there were similar concerns, although for different reasons. Watching the ethnic demographic of the US change before their eyes, they all had but one question on their mind:
“How can we best profit from this?”
There was not a lack of ideas as the ebonization phenomena posed plenty of opportunities. However, in the beginning, there was an overwhelming feeling of uncertainty in the air as the long-term effects had yet to be fully known, and many people still clung to a hope that the world would return to normal just as fast as it had been turned upside down.
As science would have it - the US would never be the same.
From an outside perspective, it seemed like the solutions figured out themselves. Eventually, films began getting made again, TV-series flourished, and it seemed like the ebonization had provided a hefty revitalization of modern media.
However, the face of Hollywood had changed. Anyone with a pulse soon realized the films and series were all… different.
Although it was never officially revealed, there was an enthusiastic group of people who worked hard behind the curtains – a group who took it upon them to show the predominately white studio executives the way out of the looming crisis. Their formerly white girlfriends, wives, daughters and co-workers had been more than willing to use their newly developed assets to share with them the pleasures of the new world.
Aaron knew this all too well. A wild fuck-session cleared the mind like nothing else, and inspired brand new ideas – some of which made the foundation of the business models he and his co-workers had begun operating from.
At first there was fear that these new plans would be deemed tasteless and politically sensitive, especially in a system which had historically been criticized, and rightly so, for limiting career opportunities for black people. That the ebonized actresses themselves were so eager and willing to adapt to these new changes helped matters immensely.
A new age of film-making, with a far sexier edge, was about to start.
How exactly did Hollywood change?
