A walk on the boardwalk

"Well, it's a nice night and we're right by the boardwalk." Dennis pointed out. "Why don't we go for a stroll?"

"Fine." Lauren grumbled, rising from her seat and hurrying out.

Dennis jogged after her as the pair left the restaurant and headed to the boardwalk. It was built along the beach looking out to the oceans, with shops and places to sit and an amusement park area with rides.

It was a busy night and there were dozens, maybe hundreds of people out enjoying the boardwalk. Lauren walked with Dennis, hoping nobody she knew would see them together.

"Lauren? Lauren Adkins?" A familiar voice called out, dashing Lauren's hopes of this shameful date being unseen...
