Chapter 16 by Altu5g Altu5g

What does he reply?

A very late appearance

To your surprise, the man violently pushed himself inside. He walked past you, starting to check every room in the small apartment.

"Ey, what the hell?!" You cried out, but he ignored you. He finished his inspection, before going back to you. Without a word, he dropped the backpack he was carrying on the floor, and leaned towards it.

"Hey, shithead! Didn't your boss tell you I was clear?" You yelled angrily. He didn't reply. Staying dead silent, he opened a bag and pulled out... a skin?

"What the hell is going on?" You asked.

"No time to explain." He replied. "Just put this one on. Take off Lola first."

You were frozen for a minute, just staring at him and trying to processes the happenings.

"Come on!"

Startled, you quickly complied, taking off Lola's skin for the first time in over a month, and revealing Andrea underneath.

"Good, now put this one on!"

Scared and confused, you quickly put on the skin he handed you, slowly transforming into an adult black woman. You were so confused you didn't even notice your amazing physique. Your tall and dark body, along with your motherly hips and large breasts, finished with long dark brown hair tied in a bun.

"Good. Put on these clothes, then step aside." You complied again, dressing in her underwear, before putting on a thin wjite blouse and a pair of form hugging jeans. It was with much more difficulty than you expected, and you realized that Lola's memories were slowly fading away from you. Then all of a sudden, a new mind filled your head. Memories rushed through your brain, overwhelming you with information. You were Carol Jones, a single mother living on the upper east side. You worked as the manager of Lincoln high, one of the least privileged schools in the city. The tall, skinny man before you was your son, Daniel. You had him with your first husband, who left you when Daniel was 4. You remarried since, but got divorced again. Daniel was 19 now. As much as you tried to raise him to be good, he got involved with a lot of bad influenced and gangs. Still, you always had a soft spot for him and would do everything in your power to help him, which he often abused. You were here bacause he called you begging to come pick him up.

You turned to see Daniel holding a very familiar brown pen, having just fired it at you. You were frozen for a minute as the realization hit you. Daniel... was that Jimmy?

He picked Lola's vacant skin off the floor, taking it to her bedroom. He laid her on the bed, before pulling out the even more familiar black pen and zapping her.

You watched in amazement as her skin almost immediately started to reinflate, like it was some air matress.

"Alright. Grab the bags, let's scram."

You two left the building just in time to notice a threatening looking man walking past you, not seeming to notice you. He was probably the man sent to give you the phone...

You got inside the car and drove off towards your home. The ride was silent, as you were still trying to process everything. Jimmy was back...

Finally arriving at your place, a small suburban home, Jimmy let out a sigh of relief before falling on the couch.

You took a deep breath, crossing your arms under your large breasts, you let your motherly instincts lead you as you approached him.

"Young man, I think you owe me an explanation."

Jimmy chuckled at your choice of words, clearly at least amused by your new situation.

"Well mom, to put it shortly, you've been duped." He replied in a very Daniel-like manner.

You groaned and rolled your eyes, another one of Carol's gestures. "Seriously. What the hell was all that 'no time to talk' buisness?"

You were about to say 'shit', but Carol never swears.

"Alright." He said with a sigh, leaning forwards in his sit. "First of all, I'm sorry. I know I said I'll be gone for just a few days, but things came up. I had to flee, and couldn't come back until I was sure I lost them."

Them? Is that still that organization?

"That offer Mike made you? He was one of them. They were hoping to use you as bait or as a double agent to get to me."

You blushed slightly. How did he know about Mike? You had so many questions.

"Don't worry, I'm not mad. They're very manipulative. I can't blame you for falling for their charm. Unfortunately though, your old life is toast. All three of them. They'll have eyes on your home, Andrea's and Lola's. That's why we're hiding here. Being Daniel will allow me to have eyes on Mike's gang to make sure they lost track of us, while you get to wind down as Carol for a bit."

As he finished explaining, you just stood there, taking it all in. This was a lot. "Why are they so eager to get you now?" You asked, still trying to figure out if he was telling the truth. There was no telling. You felt so cheated and manipulated, you didn't know who to trust. Both Jimmy's and Mike's messages drilling into your head from either side, almost making you wanna cry.

"Good question." He chuckled. "Up to now I wasn't really a threat to them. But I managed to find some info that may put their entire operation in geopardy. That's where I need your help." He replied, turning back to his backpack. "And I also managed to get a very nifty souvenir out of it." He said with a smile, chucking something at you. Carol had terrible coordination, and you almost dropped it, but mamaged to catch it in the 90th minute. You now held two very familiar objects, tied together with a piece of tape. You stared up at Daniel, and he held up a set of his own. These were two entirely new pens!

"Now don't go running around with these. It's only for emergency so you're not reliant on me if they come after you." He explained.

You stared down at the pens in amazement. This was what Mike was after. These two simple pens... they were probably two of the most powerful objects in the world. With these... you could impersonate any celebrity, any politicians; you could become the president of any country, launch wars if you so desire... and you now had your own set. Did Jimmy really trust you enough to give you that kind of power? Could you trust him with that kind of power? Could you trust him at all? What about Mike? Which one was telling you the truth? Did any of them tell you the truth? You felt so manipulated, cheated at every turn. You didn't know what to think. But at least you weren't completely helpless anymore...

Who to believe ?
