A trap sprung forth

As I fell through the ether towards Ruyanei I felt myself being slowed down by something or was it someone? I had been caught.

"Wait, don't listen to those fel sisters! I can redeem you! you could help us!" A boy or girl? with white wings and teal hair was trying to slow my descent.

"How'd you know they sent me, and why should I help you?" I figured I may as well hear him out, nothing wrong with someone making a counter offer.

"They basically copied my plan! I knew what to look for! I can offer you these powers in exchange just say you'll help us!" They were straining to slow or halt my fall so hard I was starting to see their veins bulge.

"Huh? So your rules for thee, not for me kind of guy?"

"A world of pure light! It was worth the risk!"

I think on what they're saying for a moment. On the one hand, I appreciate the drive they have to see a world they believe in to become reality. On the other hand, this world sounds like it was supposed to be a testing ground for beings on both sides. One that those sisters for all their would be vileness, never once tried to cheat until they were **** to.

And now into looking at the options streaming into my mind, table flipping via M.A.D. doctrine which is what this sin eater option seems to be, would be something they'll go for if they lost. What that creature represented just stank of the things I came to hate about religion in my life, or first life now I guess. The intolerance, the sanctimonious judgment they put on people while they themselves acted no better.
