A slight problem appears

Hailey closed her eyes, falling into a deep sleep with her body exhausted and sweaty from all that running. Beads of sweat ran down her curvy figure as she settled down in a comfortable position on the stretcher.

She let the rocking and vibrations of the armoured vehicle driving across the asphalt road lull her to sleep, starting to relax.

In the front, Amy was also starting to feel tired. Yet as a trained soldier, she was constantly taught how dozing off at the wrong time can cost your life and the lives of others around you. As such, she fixed her eyes on the road, determined to not fall into slumber and staying laser focused. She glanced at her seiko kinetic tactical watch: 10 minutes to Vacaville.

Amy thought back to earlier in the day, letting her mind wander for a bit as the empty roads saw no sign of alien presence.

Amy was doing her training exercises when her platoon was assembled by their Sargeant. She remembered wiping the sweat off her face and how drenched she was underneath, her voluptuous body sweating under the hot sun. She heard mutters of urgency and whispers of relief that their drill exercises were stopped alike as the unit fell in.

Their Sargeant looked stern as usual, her brow furrowed with sweat. Yet, she had this air of uncertainty around her, like she was doubting if her next words were true.

"I have just received news from the higher-ups that beings of... Extraterrestrial origin", the Sargeant tried to get the words across while judging the reactions, "have been spotted landing in major metropolitan areas such as Chicago and Minneapolis. The government had issued an order for all available units to mobilise. As the smaller towns and cities have not been targeted by the... Enemy forces yet, all units are to engage in an evacuation mission. You will be split into groups and sent to nearby Suisun. Follow evacuation protocol, and if the enemy forces are sighted, do not approach unless you have to."

The reactions were ranging from shock to uncertainty, before they were dismissed and sent to gear up with the processing o what they heard still on their minds. Amy was flabbergasted as well, yet pushed aside all thoughts of aliens and their possibility as she equipped herself with the necessary gear. If it was serious enough for all units to mobilise, she would need to act first before questioning. She was trained to do so.

Just then, Amy spotted a fiery trail in the air, streaking across the sky before landing at the side of the road ahead of them.
