A possibility to escape?

Max waited almost half a minute after her captor had left, making sure he wouldn’t come back right away before she dared to move. She tossed the clean-licked container away. Her brow twitched with anger. Anger at the cop for humiliating her like this, anger at herself for letting him take the last shreds of her pride away. But he had made a mistake! Slowly she got on her feet. It was time to get out of here. She walked over to her cot and bent down. He had forgotten to take the spoon!

Slowly she turned it in her bound hands, studying every detail of the little spoon. It was old and simple, made out of stainless steel with a worn-out wooden handle. A normal girl wouldn’t have seen what this spoon could be, what it could mean, but Max was far from normal. This spoon was her freedom!

With carefully applied **** Max tried to pry the wooden handle parts off the rest, cautious not to break anything. She gripped the spoon with both fists and slowly turned them against each other, taking her time. If her captor came back now then that was unfortunate, but if she wasted this opportunity by being too hasty it would be stupid.

Finally she heard a distinct, yet satisfying cracking sound. With a smile she examined the results of her work and found a long split along the handle. Perfect! With swift fingers she peeled the remains of the grip off the metal and was left with the head of the spoon and two long sharp nails that had connected it to the handle.

Her heart pounded fast in her chest as she did her best to bend the two nails so they could serve her purpose, her ears always perked for any signs of someone coming towards the basement door. She could almost smell the fresh air, hear Normal’s annoying “Bip! Bip! Bip!” and taste the cheap, thin coffee in Jam Pony’s breakroom. She would get out of this mess!
