A phone call

“…H-Hello?” You answer the phone not reading the number, but knowing it must have been someone important since only a few numbers bypassed the do not disturb.

“Hey-yyy, Alex…” said a voice you didn’t recognize but was still familiar enough for it to ping your brain. You were quiet for a second as you checked your phone and saw it was indeed Marissa. You also saw it was a little after 7am.

You say, “What’s up, bestie? It’s unlike you to be up this early. You don’t normally start texting until at least 9am.” You let out a yawn as you try to wake yourself up a bit more.

She giggles and says, “You’re the only person I could call…it’s kinda an emergency…If you could bring one of your shirts or a jacket that’s all I can say for now.”

Now you are super curious but still want to respect her request. “No worries, Riz. I’ll bring you something. Where am I going?”

“I’m in the northeast bathroom of Summit Park. Just call out to me when you get here,” her voice said before hanging up. You hop out of bed and quickly get yourself ready while making sure to bring a jacket. Luckily, you live right next to the park so you decide to just walk there. You don’t normally get up this early but it was nice despite it being a bit chilly.

You quickly get to the bathroom in about five minutes as you call out, “Riz, are you in there? I brought you the jacket.”

A few seconds pass as you hear the sound of a door swinging open and her voice softly say, “You can hand me the jacket.” You see her hand appear around the corner as you hand her the jacket. You hear the door close again as you wait outside for her to make her appearance and give you a possible explanation of what is going on.
