A minor delay

As Seleste was considering her options she heard a door open close by, followed by footsteps and the closing of said door. Someone had just walked out of the building. Whoever it was he (or she) was making very little noise, but everything around the mansion was completely quiet, not to mention it was very close to her location, and so the person’s movements were pretty easy to hear. To the thief’s displeasure and annoyance the unknown person started walking in her direction, forcing her to hide if she did not want to be found. Sneaking inside the mansion would have to wait.

Seleste had taken such a development in consideration and had made her plans accordingly. The place where she was currently standing was very close to the mansion’s gardens where it would be easy to hide (or so she hoped). Quickly but carefully, so as to not make any noise, she made her way to the gardens and went inside just moments before the unknown person looked at the place where she had been seconds earlier.

From her hiding place Seleste watched as a young brown-haired man wearing leather armor but no helm, shield or weapon entered the gardens shortly after her. He made his way to the nearest bench and sat down on it, waiting. The thief decided the man must be a guard – most likely one that was not on duty tonight, but he could also be a guard who had left his post temporarily.

Five minutes later another person entered the gardens – this one a pretty young maid with dark red hair.
