An empty bedroom

The light from the full moon illuminated the room nicely, allowing Seleste to examine it in detail. Not that there was much to see – it was a large bedroom, with a bed fit for a queen (or at least some high-ranking noble). The room was empty, with nothing of interest for the young thief. But at least she had made it inside the mansion safely. Now she just had to take a look around and find something valuable…

‘Shit!’ Seleste cursed in her mind. The door to the room was wide open and so anyone passing by outside could look in and spot her. And right now there was someone walking towards the room – fortunately that person (most likely a guard) was carrying some sort of light source (probably a lantern) and that had given him away. The thief quickly hid under the bed ad waited for the unknown person to pass by.

Unfortunately for Seleste the person did not pass by. Instead he entered the seemingly-empty room and looked around for a few moments before finally leaving and continuing down the corridor. Just as the guard was leaving the room Seleste dared to look up from under the large bed and saw that the unknown person was actually an armored woman with long dark hair.

Once the guardswoman had left the thief breathed a sigh of relief and got out from her hiding place. After making sure that the dark corridor was now empty she left the room and started looking for anything of interest.
