Chapter 21 by aroes aroes

Do I agree to wait or ...?

A long Wait, Through Not Alone

I look to the crowd, putting my leg out to one side, managing a smile, and turning back her way, "Sure, You have fun. I'll manage somehow." She smiles back at me, casually whispers, "Thanks", and blows me a kiss, rubbing a hand across my side as she passed me by. I watched her go and squared my shoulders, standing facing away from the entrance to the changing rooms. I hear people talking, standing, and staring. I do my best not to give it any mind, but soon I find myself wondering how long she plans to be in there.

It's not long before I hear people talking, in hushed tones, and I see a few people pointing my way, clearly intrigued and confused at what they were seeing. A small number of young women stood nearby, looking my way and giggling. They walked from table to table, taking their time working over to me, acting as if afraid to be caught. As this was going on, I watch silently, sometimes catching a sidewise glance. They seem to be being led by a dark-haired woman, whose face was heated a bit, clearly feeling mixed emotions about what was going on.

I soon noticed, while I waited for my new audience, they managed to build up enough confidence to stand a few feet away, whispering with her friends, and just then she shushed them, her cheeks hot with blood, letting me know she was embarrassed. She sheepishly waved at me, and smiling, I waved back. One of her friends poked her in the ribs, prodding her forward. She let out a sigh and snapped a photo of me.

Just then, a middle-aged man seemed to appear out of norward, blocking my view of them, "What do you think you are doing?"

What this? How shall I respond to his question?
