A little apartment tour

"Oh, I haven't been a very good host, have I? I haven't even given you a tour." Oscar felt ashamed after realising that not only has he waxed the floors to be too slippery, but he had been so caught up that he forgot to show Lorraine around the house, instead of barraging her with questions.

"Oh, it's quite alright. Humans are interesting, and I don't mind getting to know them." Lorraine waved it off, being polite as she mentally noted the differences she had observed so far between the monster girl and human cultures, including the differences in class.

"I'm Oscar Callahan, and I hope I can be a good host. To be honest, I've put up my house for the exchange at the recommendation of a friend. Yet, my interest in your world's culture is growing too." Oscar slowly warmed up to the idea, realising how unique monster girls could be. His initial curiosity and interest that slowly turned to apathy over the months started to reignite. Maybe this won't be so bad after all.

After a bit more elaborations, they shook hands and Oscar led Lorraine around the house.

It wasn't very big, being a simple apartment complex. With a short sweep of the living room, bedroom, smaller guest bedroom, storage room, kitchen and toilet, Oscar helped Lorraine to unpack her luggage and left her to her room while he sat on the sofa to check the time.

So good so far. I'm lucky that her wealthy upbringing didn't change her standards to be super high and turn her attitude bad. She even seemed quite happy and content, even if it might be her social persona talking, Oscar noted down the reaction of Lorraine. While he was transfixed by her ethereal presence and detachable head, she seemed transfixed by how the walls weren't made of stone but concrete and how the average apartment lacked a dungeon.

Oscar found that the time was around 5 pm, slowly approaching 6. It would be about time for dinner once Lorraine finished setting up and acclimating to her room. Would it be better for them to eat out, or should they have a home-cooked meal?
