A last Meeting between Batman and Dracula. In this Night there is no Peace... Only WAR

Chapter 139 by Colleem Colleem

Dracula stood on one of the battlements of the castle and looked at the streets that lay before him. He looked up and admired the full moon, which was now in full bloom. A cool breeze could be felt and if he had not long ago escaped the flaws of human existence, he would surely be shivering. His long, red cape blew in the wind and revealed his ancient armour. For this fight the armour was just right. It was appropriate that he would face the Wolf King as ruler as well. One hand lay on his long sword. He had been wielding this sword for over 1400 years and the blade had never let him down. It was unlikely, however, that he would need this blade. It was not magical or special in any way. It was just a memory of a better time.

Proudly he looked down over the battlements where Talia and Zatanna had positioned themselves on two different levels. Zatanna wore a truly sinful red dress with golden runes. She was the incarnation of a blood mage as she stood there. A few levels below her stood Talia. For some reason, she wore the ancient armor of her brotherhood. Yet this skin-tight armor accentuated her body no less than Zatanna's dress. The 2 Katanas ran crosswise along her back and in her belt were countless throwing knives or bombs. Dracula was sure that each of these weapons was made especially for this purpose.

Then his gaze wandered upwards to the topmost battlements of the castle. The creature that used to be Vicky was still resting on the tower and had laid down to rest there. Even if it disgusted Dracula what she had become he had to admit that she had become an extreme creature. She was the first bride to ever take that path. Right there was the problem. Normal vampires, those who had not received the initiation by Dracula himself, usually fell for the animal much more easily. However, the power of Dracula also seemed to strengthen the monster. Nevertheless, this creature was a stain, a disgrace. The only thing it was good for now was chaos and destruction.

A final sigh escaped him as he thought of the last battle against the werewolves. At that time his brides had been at his side and an army of the undead. This time only 2 ½ brides were at his side and a small troop of gargoyle. But this time he didn't have to storm a castle, the werewolves would come to him. And there was his tactical advantage. The castle itself was a powerful weapon.

With a violent impact Goliath landed next to him and got down on his knees next to him.

"My king! We vow to protect the castle!"

Dracula did not look at the giant creature and just nodded.

"Thank you, Goliath. I hope your clan and you will survive this battle, but the castle is more important than your life." He said calmly and Goliath nodded.

"As it has always been." Goliath replied and with a single leap he was gone.

When he was gone, Dracula closed his eyes briefly. Something about this situation bothered him. It was not right. He clearly sensed that something else was going on. It had been a long time since Dracula felt like he was just a pawn on a chessboard. For thousands of years, no one had been able to manipulate him.

"This is it!" he finally smiled as he looked up. "At least he has style!"

Like a threatening prophecy, the night sky was illuminated by a glaring ray of light. Before the eyes got used to it, the ray had already disappeared and only the sign remained. HIS sign.

Batman had risen!

Then he personally saw him step out of the fog.

And then all who were brave enough to witness this final battle saw him too.

Batman refused to make a mysterious appearance from nowhere in this fight. He walked right into the middle of the street, straight towards the main gates of the castle. The fog nevertheless gave the whole thing a mysterious glow.

Dracula recognized this gesture immediately and honored it. As if out of nowhere he just stood at the main gate and walked towards Bruce as well. Both met before the gates of the castle on the ruins of Waynes Tower.

"Lord Dracula." Said Batman calmly and deliberately.

"Batman." Dracula nodded at him. "I must say I'm impressed. You are truly the heir to the Wolf King. Only he had the willpower to defy the power of the full moon."

"This is your last chance, Dracula. Leave my city or this will end in carnage." Said Bruce in a deep, dark voice. He was not in the least convinced that Dracula would accept this offer but it was his deepest conviction to fight this war.

"I have heard your offer, Wolf King Batman, but I must decline. I came here to eradicate the plague. Though you are of noble mind, my resolve is clear. This is where your kind will meet their end. Or can you promise me that none of your kind will ever lose control?"

Bruce wanted to answer directly until the incident with Jason in the cave came back to him. Although Ivy had harmonized him, he had succumbed to the wildness. Even with the power of Ivy, it was always possible that they would lose control. Bruce slowly looked around. Everywhere on the rooftops and in the alleys, the werewolves of his pack had appeared. But his fine nose also recognized the presence of humans.

Sighing, he looked down and shook his head. "I can't do that. I myself feel the ferocity within me every day and it is a hard fight to keep control. For them, this fight is even harder."

Dracula nodded slowly and reached out his hand.

"True words Batman. I accept your truth and promise you all a quick and painless death. "Rest assured of my recognition, Batman. In all my life, there has never been an opponent more honorable than you. It will be a loss to this world, but you will understand that there is no place in this world for beings as you are now."

Batman took his hand and shook it slowly. "Thank you for your Words but beware. The citizens of Gotham are under my protection. No matter how noble your request may be... I will thwart it.“

After both army commanders had nodded to each other for the last time, they both went back in the direction they had come from. It was clear to both that none of the others would ever deviate from their position.

"How did it go my love?" Aloe Vera asked Batman.

"As expected. There will be no peace." He said quietly and activated a system on his glove.

"And what does that mean for us now?" Harley asked as she hung upside down from a lantern. That the lantern could bear the weight of a werewolf was impressive.

"War." Were the only words of Batman when the sky was brightly lit.

"MASTER!" yelled Talia as she realized what was happening. "Fucking billionaire!" she finally growled as she realized that several dozen tomahawk missiles were headed for the castle. That Bruce had gone to such extremes could only mean that he intended to win this fight at any cost. No more Mr. Not-Killing-Nice-Guy. This was serious now. Now it would become clear what the castle was capable of. For an attack of this magnitude could not be defeated by a few humans. No matter what powers Talia or Zatanna had. The sheer mass of the missiles was enough to cause immense damage to the castle. But as always... she had no Idea of what Zatanna was capable of.

Talia turned hastily as she heard the words of Zatanna and saw her sister hovering in spirit a little above the battlements. Lightning bolts of pure magic kept hitting her arms, forming a pentagram right behind her. Hastily she turned back to the rockets that had suddenly stopped all in the air. Shortly afterwards they turned around and flew back behind the ruins where they had come from. Violent explosions clearly showed that the rocket launchers had been destroyed.
