Chapter 6 by Wolf_Knight Wolf_Knight

What is coming for Morgan that she would seek his aid and bind her powers in that way?

A gathering of old gods

"To put it bluntly as you preferred in the old days, I pissed off a few Pantheons by playing with their believers," Morgan elaborated with that smirk still on her lips. "And since I've bound my powers and requested asylum with you, well, let's just leave it at you're too honorable to throw me to the wolves as it were."

"You do realize that I am no longer King Aurthur Pendragon," Aurthur replied. "I no longer need to live by that strict of a code of honor."

"You never had to live by that strict of a code of honor, hence it was your honor that established Camelot and your way of ruling the people. The only bonus I have right now is that the fool Merlin is too young and lacks the knowledge about me to interfere. I count it as a good thing, except that if he was still that insufferable old wizard, I wouldn't have to lower myself to asking for the aid of a simple Mage. Your only saving grace is that before I bound my powers, I could sense that you probably outclass Merlin and myself in raw power, beyond that I couldn't get a read on anything about you. You have very powerful wards on yourself," Morgan said before continuing in with a slight smile and a flirty tone, "I may need to spend some time getting to know you better while I'm here."

"Morgan, forget it," Aurthur deadpanned. "It was never a lack of outer beauty that you lacked. I always found you attractive in that regard. It's your complete lack of morals and conscience that turns me off. I enjoy a good fuck as much as the next guy but have no desire to wake up with a dagger between my ribs for it. Besides, I've had so much better than you over the centuries," Aurthur stated with a cruel smile gracing his features.

Looking utterly insulted, Moran La Fey harumphed, turned on her heels and walked out of the room, "I'll be dancing in the club when you want more information." She flipped him off as she walked out of the kitchen into the club.

Guido looked up from his food prep, "You want me to kill her Boss?"

"No Guido, truth be told, she's right about my being too honorable to let her be killed after she asked for sanctuary," Aurthur gritted his teeth before continuing, "Why does it always fall to me to be the good guy Guido?"

"Well Boss," Guido smiled, "to paraphrase an old quote. The only thing that evil needs to triumph is for good men to do nothing. And, like it or not, you're a good man who won't let evil triumph. However, the offer still stands once this mess is over."

Authur laughed for a moment, "Too right, I'll let you know once this mess if over what we'll need to do with Miss Le Fey. As you say I don't let evil triumph and she may be the lesser of two evils now, but that can easily change down the road." Authur shook his head, "You don't need to say it, we both know I'm not likely to follow through with that offer because it not what a good man would do. Sometimes, it sucks to be the good guy."

What's next for Aurthur to deal with?
