Chapter 11 by SabianMaillard SabianMaillard

What do we find?

A doctor's consulting room

The walls were panelled in some dark wood, (that I couldn't identify.) The floor was covered in an impossibly deep carpet of dark emerald green. The ceiling was some sort of cream, or beige and anachronisticly there was a wide flat chandelier dominating the middle of the ceiling.

The largest object in the room was a comically huge desk made of wood, with a high-backed studded leather chair, that had been some shade of red before age and circumstances had changed it to almost match the walls. There was a long low sofa that could easily seat five people, a few other chairs and a coffee table. If there were other details, they failed to register as I saw my light, my sunshine, my salvation, my breath, my reason for existing. I could barely contain myself, and took a deep breath to focus.

In my peripheral vision I could see that Miss Summer heard or saw my sharp intake of breath and looked at my feet to see if I had managed to stub my toe or bump into some piece of furniture. She tugged lightly on my hand, seeking to check how I was. Being unable to look at Mistress F directly it might have seemed that I had been struck by a migraine or was trying not to look directly into the sun.

I glanced up at her and shot her my best reassuring smile and mouthed a simple, "okay".

"Come sit over here." commanded the Doctor. I could feel her still wearing that identity in her tone. I was both curious and horrified by what would happen when she metaphorically took the lab coat off.

We shuffled over to the side of the low table where there were three identical chairs. The Doctor sat on the sofa opposite. I could feel her appraising us and painting us with her smile. She lowered herself to the sofa and for a moment she was a lioness about to pounce.

"That will be all for now." She said, confusingly and then by way of clarity the receptionist, replied, "Very good mama." with a strange pronunciation of the last word. She closed the door behind her as she left.

"We can begin. I am so delighted to finally meet you Miss Summer."

Who responds?
