Chapter 16 by goodson goodson

What do I do now?

A different tactic

"Okay, time for a different tactic," I murmured to myself as I clicked out of another fruitless search window. I sat there, debating what I should do. After a few moments of thought, I grabbed a screwdriver and headed out of the house.

I headed next door, screwdriver in hand, and made my way to the small utility box mounted on the side of the Grayson's house. With a quick glance around to make sure no one was watching, I popped open the cover and located the main internet cable. I carefully unscrewed the cable, making sure to tuck it back into the utility box so it looked like nothing was amiss. I knocked on the Grayson's front door, and waited for Chloe to answer. A few moments later, I heard the sound of footsteps approaching and the door swung open, revealing Chloe standing there in a tight pink tank top and short black yoga shorts. She looked at me curiously, her eyebrows raised in question. "Hi Seth, what's up?" she asked, leaning against the doorframe, her arms crossed under her ample breasts.

'Hi, Chloe, I hate to bother you but I was wondering... my internet just cut out on me. Do you still have service?" I ask with feigned innocence. Chloe frowned and pulled out her phone, tapping the screen a few times. "Huh, I don't have any service either," she said, her brow furrowing. "That's weird. I'm going to go check the router."

She stepped back and waved me inside. "Come on in, Seth. Let's see if we can figure this out together."

I followed her into the house, my eyes lingering on the way her shorts hugged her shapely ass. I followed Chloe into the house, my eyes lingering on the way her shorts hugged her shapely ass. She led me into the office where their wi-fi router was set up, crouching down in front of it and tapping a few buttons. "Huh, that's strange," she murmured, her brow furrowed in concentration. "The lights are all on but I'm not picking up a signal." Chloe stood up, turning to look at me, her face showing her frustration. "I have no idea what's wrong, Seth. Do you have any experience with this kind of stuff?" she asked, gesturing at the router.

"I do actually, Chloe. I worked in IT for a while in my last job," I told her with a reassuring smile, stepping closer to her. "Do you mind if I take a look?" Chloe hesitated for a moment, glancing uncertainly between me and the router. "I guess it couldn't hurt," she finally relented, stepping back to let me crouch down next to it.

As I inspected the router, I could feel Chloe hovering behind me, her perfume faintly tickling my nose. "Huh," I muttered, pointing to a blinking red light. "This indicator light is showing an error with the cable modem." I stood up, turning to face Chloe with a puzzled frown. "I think I need to check the cable modem. Do you mind if I use your computer to access the modem?"

Chloe shrugged, her hands on her hips. "Sure, go ahead. I have no idea what you're talking about, but if you think it'll help, knock yourself out. I'll be in the kitchen. All this tech stuff is way over my head," she assures me with a shrug, turning and leaving me alone in the office.

As Chloe walked away, the scent of her perfume lingered in the air, a sweet and intoxicating mix of vanilla and something more exotic that I couldn't quite place. I took a moment to appreciate the view as she left the room, her yoga shorts hugging her curves in all the right places, and her tank top clinging to her back, accentuating the toned muscles of her shoulders and arms. As I sat down at Chloe's computer, I could still smell her perfume, the sweet and exotic scent lingering in the air, teasing my senses. I took a deep breath, trying to focus on the task at hand, but my mind was racing with thoughts of Chloe, her body, and the secrets she kept. I opened the browser and began to navigate through her online history.

What do I find?
