Raven smile deviously, reaches into the nightstand on her side of our bed and pulls out the ebony wood hairbrush I had bought here a few days earlier and she had used daily since.

“You know, I think my hair brush could do a good job as Jinxy’s ‘naughty paddle’, don’t you think John?” Raven asks me rhetorically as she slaps the flat side the brush against her palm several times, “I think fifteen swats on each cheek should teach her to be more punctual and earn her a night in our bed. It’s your choice Jinx, a night on the couch or some time over John’s knee. Choose quickly or that fifteen might start getting bigger!”
