A city in the Underdark

After a while the small path along the cliff, that you have been walking so far, leads onto a much wider and well treaded one. This path even has laid bricks, and other, smaller paths converging on it.

We'll need to remember which paths we've taken, once we have freed ourselves and the others, you think to yourself, hopefully Wizard will be up to the task...

But all of your plans to free anybody get a lot more complicated, as a large underground city comes into view.

It is built out of stone, with tall walls and spiraling towers along it's borders. Watchtowers probably, great. You were hoping to be led to some makeshift camp with a couple tents and a big old cage containing a pile of halflings waiting to be rescued, not a massive, fortress like city.

You see a hill in the middle of the city, with a long and wide stairway leading up to a gigantic citadel on top.

This must be where their leader resides.

Around the hill are several large buildings, though none of the come close in size to the citadel. They also look like a cross between the manors of a ruling class and temples. You wonder what dark gods these creatures might be praying to.
