A baggy of joints

It didn't take long for Garrett to find a plastic bag of joints stuffed at the bottom of the backpack.

"What's this, young lady?" he said, holding the bag in front of the girl's face.

"Those aren't mine!" said the girl, trying to act as shocked as possible.

"Just give it up," said Garrett, sighing. "You've lied enough to me. If you keep it up, your punishment is going to get much more severe."

"Okay, fine," said the girl, defeated.

"Where did you get these, young lady?" asked Garrett. He hoped that they did not have a dealer among the student population.

"I got them from a dealer just off of campus," she said. "I just bought them last night." Garrett internally sighed in relief. He really did not want the students selling weed to each other behind his back.

"Come with me to my office. I'll be keeping these as evidence." Garrett stashed the bag in his pocket and lead the girl out of the bathroom and down the halls to his office.

As the girl stood, sniffling, on the other side of his desk, Garrett realized he'd never asked her name. He asked, and she told him her name was Sarah Winchester. Looking at the records on his computer, Garrett found that Sarah was already a bit of a troublemaker. She had twenty-two listed infractions since the beginning of the school year, only a few weeks ago.

"Miss Winchester, it seems like you've been quite the rule-breaker since you got here," he said, shaking his head in disapproval.

"Well, sometimes, I think the teachers are a little hard on me," said Sarah. "I'm just a bit more of a free-spirit than the other girls."

"Free-spirit or not," said Garrett, "you still have to follow the rules if you want to attend this school. Now, since you have a record of infractions already, your discipline will be more severe than it otherwise would be. Please strip off your clothes and place them on the desk."
