What will happen next?

A Walk Through The Woods

The first thing all of the friends did the next morning was get the food together for breakfast. Today they would be having eggs and bacon that was being cooked on the griddle that they had brought with them. Laura was the one who was cooking breakfast, while the rest of the group was getting things ready like plates and utensils so that they would be ready to go once the food was done cooking. It didn’t take long for the food to be ready, which was a good thing since everyone seemed to be hungry.

“Okay guys, the food is ready.” Laura called out and as she turned around she could help but laugh at seeing her friends already lining up for the food.

“Thank God. I am about to starve.” Mallory said as she was the first one in the line.

“You aren’t the only one. My stomach has been rumbling for an hour.” Kirk said.

“You are always hungry dude, so that is no change here.” Chase said.

“I know. I don’t know why I am always hungry.” Kirk said.

“You are a growing boy. You need that food, and it looks like it has been doing you good too.” Christine said in a flirtatious way.

“Glad you approve. So, let’s get to eating so we can get started with today’s activities.” Kirk said with a smile toward his friend.

“Sounds good. So, are we all still doing what we talked about last night?” Patrick asked.

Everyone nodded and then Sasha spoke up saying, “So, Patrick and I are going for a hike on the trails, the rest of the girls are tanning, and boys are going bike riding.”

Everyone nodded again and went back to eating so that they could get to their plans. It didn’t take them long to finish the food and then they went to change clothes for their activities of the day. When they all met back up, they all decided that they would all meet down on the beach when they were done with their separate activities and go for a swim since it was supposed to be hot today.

They all went their separate ways now with Christine, Laura and Mallory heading to the beach to tan, Patrick and Sasha heading for the trails for their hike, and Chad, Kirk, and Chase got their bikes and went riding around the huge campground. Everyone was happy with their choices for the day and they were looking forward to having fun with everyone else when they met back up again.

“See you guys later and don’t forget to have fun while you are at it.” Laura said and everyone nodded as they headed their separate ways.

. . .

Sasha and Patrick made it to the trails that they knew by heart now that they had been coming to this campground for years now. They both walked in silence for a while, looking around at the beauty that surrounded them.

“It really is beautiful out here, isn’t it?” Sasha asked.

“Yeah it is. I love coming here every year. I hope we do this for as long as we are able to.” Patrick said.

“Me too. It is so much fun to get away from everything that is bothering us, since we don’t have to deal with technology and all of that stuff out here.” Sasha said.

“That’s a good point. So, how has your summer been? I know I see you once a week when we go to the pool, but other than that, I haven’t really seen you.” Patrick said.

“Yeah. Everything has been good. Nothing out of the ordinary has been going on. Just normal summer stuff. What about you?” Sasha asked.

“About like you, nothing out of the ordinary has been going on. Just hanging out with the guys for the most part.” Patrick said.

“Good. I am glad that I am not missing out on any fun then.” Sasha said with a smile, while Patrick returned it.

“So, are there any guys that you wouldn’t mind going out on a date with this year?” Patrick asked.

“I am interested in someone, but I don’t know how interested he is. It would be great if he saw me the same way.” Sasha said with a sad smile, because she didn’t think her friends would ever see her in that way.

Patrick frowned at this. He didn’t know why any guy would turn down Sasha. She was beautiful and if this guy couldn’t see that, then he was a fucking idiot.

“I don’t think that will be a problem. If this guy turns you down, he is an idiot.” Patrick said aloud.

“Thanks for the compliment, but I just don’t think I fit into his plans.” Sasha said.

Patrick frowned again, but he didn’t want to make Sasha uncomfortable so he let it go. He would have to talk to her again about this at some point. He didn’t like how she didn’t think she was good enough for some guy.

“What about you? Any girls you are looking at this year?” Sasha asked.

“I have a few that I am interested in. Some of them are probably out of my league and some are probably just not interested in me in that way.” Patrick said.

Sasha shook her head. They were two peas in a pod it looked like. Neither one of them had much confidence in themselves. Patrick at least had an outlet for that though. When he was on the soccer field, he was confident in what he was doing. She didn’t have that kind of outlet to build confidence in herself. She knew that she had confidence issues, but she just didn’t know what to do about them.

“Don’t sell yourself short. You are one of the most known people in school. Everyone knows who you are. That makes you popular, which means you can pick up whatever girl that you want.” Sasha said.

“If you say so. All of the girls that I have ever asked out have turned me down.” Patrick said.

“You are just looking for the wrong girl. If you find the right one to ask you will be fine.” Sasha said.

“I hope you are right. Anyway, what is it about this guy that you like?” Patrick asked.

Sasha smiled at him before answering. “He is sweet, smart, and hot. What more could I ask for. I know that he would never treat me badly.” Sasha said.

“Good. That is what you deserve. If he ever does mess up, come and let me know and I will take care of it.” Patrick said.

Sasha laughed at that and then said, “I will do that. So, what about your girls? What is it that you find special about them?”

“Well, the one that I have the most chance with is smart, sexy, and kind. I would describe her about the same way that you described your guy.” Patrick said.

“Sounds like the kind of girl that you need. I hope you finally get what you want in a girl. You deserve it.” Sasha said with a sad smile that Patrick didn’t miss.

“What’s wrong? Why do you look upset?” Patrick asked.

“I am just happy that you have this girl that you like and you will most likely get her. I don’t really have that chance. I think my guy is into someone else.” Sasha said.

“Don’t get ahead of yourself. We don’t even know if the girl is interested in me or not.” Patrick said with a smile.

“Well, I am willing to help you out. Use your line that you would use on this girl to ask her out. We can refine it if it needs it.” Sasha said.

“I don’t know if that is a good idea Sasha. I feel like an idiot already. I don’t want to look like one in front of you.” Patrick said.

“Don’t you think it is better that you use it on a friend first that way when you do go and use it on your girl, you will be ready?” Sasha said.

“I guess you have a point. I wasn’t thinking of anything over the top. Just something simple.” Patrick said.

“That is the best way to go. So, show me what you got.” Sasha said with a smile.

“Okay. Here goes. Would you like to go out to dinner and a movie with me next weekend?” Patrick asked.

“Hey. That was a good way to ask a girl out. Why were you thinking that it was so bad?” Sasha asked.

“Well, first of all, I didn’t think that it was that good because it has never worked before. Second, what is your answer?” Patrick asked.

Sasha didn’t get it at first, but then what Patrick just said cliqued and she smiled at him with her gorgeous smile. “I would love to go out with you Patrick. I have been wanting this for years.” Sasha said.

“Oh thank God. I didn’t think you would ever agree to go on a date with me. I thought you would be worried about our friendship.” Patrick said.

“I am, but I think we have been friends long enough that we should be able to remain friends if things don’t work out between us.” Sasha said.

“I think so too. So, are we going to try and keep this from our friends or are we going to be open about it?” Patrick asked.

“I don’t see any reason to hide it. I do want to know about these other girls at some point though.” Sasha said and Patrick nodded since he wasn’t going to lie to Sasha about anything if he could help it.

They continued to walk down the path hand in hand while looking at the scenery and enjoying each other’s company as a new couple.

What is happening on the beach and on the bike ride?
